what they actually say is...

to add to the confusion

Thats the description column - as you probably know from the '

Yeah I picked on up in August when they were a bit more expensive
I wont pass full judgment till I've tried my 360 on it tonight, but overall I'm pretty impressed. The one thing I will say is I dont have a trained eye like silentbob or rhythm probably have, but the few Xbox games that run at 720p/1080i I run look really nice. Its also bloody hard finding any reviews on it at all, which may not be a good sign, but I've always liked LG screens. As mentioned elsewhere, up close normal TV looks cack, but thats not really unique to this one, but from my viewing distance of about 8 feet (further if I'm at my desk) it looks nice, bright and vibrant colours.
Most annoying thing is it takes 10 secs to switch input mode!
cheers furbs that helps, will be interested in how you go tonight, it would be great if you could post your feedback

Registered 20 years agoSome companies sell different products in different countries but use the same model numbers. Be careful comparing US specs and UK specs as they might not physically be the same device and almost definetly won't be the same software/firmware. -

/prepares to shout at Powerhouse when Sky go HD
From what I read and if iirc you should be fine for a few years as the first Sky HD will support component - no HDCP to worry about. -

It's not bad. There're a couple of actual HD-Ready sets at that price though

Registered 20 years agoThe first generation of Sky’s High Definition STB will, as well as the HDMI output, have analogue component outputs which will work in full HD resolution," said Sky's new head of HD marketing at a press event organised by Sony and attended by Digital Spy's Alan Jay. "All Sky’s programming will be available in HD over the analogue port of this receiver."
For anyone worried. -

Maybe silentbob should stick that in the first post...
Good idea. linky just in case.
Skys HD site says you need a HD Ready TV - as did the FAQ - but the linked text is more recent.
So you should be fine for a couple of years at least with a HD capable TV with component inputs. But to be totally future proof you do need a TV with the HD Ready logo - and most will have now. -

Registered 17 years agoAnyone know if this would work on a normal monitor or would it have to be an ATi graphices card? Could I not just plug my 360 component cables in here, use my VGA/DVi adapter and hey presto, 1080i?
