    Was a great first film to watch with all the effects and shit, I enjoyed it tbh.

    I couldnít recommend the C8 highly enough.
    I tend to watch Babestation for 4-5 hours a night. Will I have a problem with burn-in?

    I enjoyed Ready Player One. Fukkin hipster gamers and their hate of anything that doesn't live up to their childish fantasies.

    Got the TV set up \o/

    Any general tips on settings from you kind people?

    Game mode on / off? Auto motion on / off? Any special settings (brightness, contrast, sharpness, colour) best for games / movies / sport?

    Iíve googled settings for the 7400 and itís not much help really!

    Auto motion is that soap opera affect isnít it? Switch that straight off. Other than that, colour settings depend on your room usually

    Game mode off unless you're playing a game, usually.

    @monkman76

    Well, obviously. I just wondered if it was actually any good (when playing a game).

    I don't know for your specific model, but yeah it's generally worth using for games as it will usually reduce input lag fairly noticeably.

    ...though you might not notice that on RDR2 ;)

    Think I've finally got some settings I'm happy with, after lots of googling to see what half of the settings meant.

    I kind of wish I'd gone a little bigger though. I went 50" up from 46", but the old tv was 8 years old and the bezel was pretty big. So the 50" actually looks smaller in the room than the old tv, which is not necessarily a bad thing but I could have gone bigger. I'll know for the next upgrade though!

    Very happy so far, although you don't get much leeway in terms of viewing angles and the stand isn't great and doesn't swivel. We have quite a few places to sit and watch at different angles so I will probably need to invest in a decent swivel stand at some point.

    Haven't really done any gaming yet though so haven't viewed any 4K content as yet. Going to start RDR2 later though so looking forward to seeing that.

    @robc84
    Apparently they made an arse of the RDR2 HDR implementation so it may not be as impressive as some other titles.

    If you can still see the edges of the screen in your usual seating position with binoculars on backwards, your screen isn't big enough

    @robc84 Always, always use game mode when playing games. It's not one of those matter-of-taste things.

    In the off chance you've read somewhere to turn it off so you can use TruMotion or whatever for "smoother graphics", disregard it as the ramblings of a complete fucking idiot

    @Psiloc

    Hah, thanks for that. Game mode is firmly on, don't worry.

    I messed about with the settings while on the PS4 dashboard, not realising they changed again when you start up a game and HDR kicks in. So that confused me for a while too. It's easily done mind.

    I still think the picture is a little bright, so I might have to nudge the contrast down a little or maybe the backlight. Both are already down to 80% though...

    Think I have brightness set at -2 on a 5 to -5 scale and colour at about 60%. Tone is warm1 I think.

    I probably need to leave it alone to be honest as I'm getting a bit obsessed with tweaking it and it's probably not really making any noticeable difference.

    @Psiloc I had to turn off game mode on my older samsung tv. It enabled a terribly implemented adaptive brightness that couldn't be turned off while in GM. Luckily it didn't seem to have any noticible effect in input lag.

    @Armoured_Bear Nice. In related sales shenanigans, was gearing up to sell our sofa before we move back to UK, and while searching for the original details to out in the online listing, I found that the shop was offering free refunds on it due to below expected production quality . So after 3+ years, will get the full amount we paid back! That is an unexpected $1400 that will go towards a projector :)

    That's a proper stroke of luck, that'll probably get you Hampshire post Brexit.

    I am 85% there towards going for a projector and 120 screen size over the latest LG oled. If I could get a 65inch LG I might go for that, I donít think I want a permanent tv that size in living room. So then the trade off is between huge size when I want it, and something large all the time with better visibilty with ambient light.

    Funny, I just downsized from a projector to a 65Ē :)

    Fuck me the default setting on Samsung TVs looks horrific. Sharpness filter being the worst offender, thought Iíd bought a dud for a minute as the processing on every source was so extreme

    Heh, I remember the reviews for the B7 (when I was in the market for one) making a huge fucking deal over the fact the out of the box settings weren't horrific because it's so unheard of.

    I don't quite understand why manufacturers do this. I mean fine have a pleb setting to sell the TV to Chav Charverton at Brighthouse - make it the default picture setting if you want - but how about the very next setting being a decent setting for people with eyes that work?

    Anyone excited by Panasonics line up of OLED's for 2019?

    The GZ950B looks like a great upgrade if the price is right...
