Well it was £100 off. Also 18 months interest free so it's essentially free.

Dunno if I've been spoiled with the Panasonic plasma I had but I'm really not that blown away with it at the moment. Not as huge a leap as I was expecting.

    EG-ers, your help please!

I've been streaming movies from my PC to my LG TV quite happily for years.

However, since about a week ago, I've been unable to see any new files I add to my shared folders on TV - though weirdly, files there up until then are visible and accessible.

Any idea what the eff may be happening here?

IIRC I made VLC my default video player a few weeks back - could that be causing the issue? I changed it back to Windows Media Player but that didn't fix things.

    Thanks for any advice!

BTW< I have been Googling but can't seem to find this particular issue's solution.

Maybe some sort of limit has been reached? Have you tried removing the old files and keeping the new to see if that works?

    @mrpon I had a minor clear-out (fnuk!) but no joy. :( It's bloody baffling.

Do you have an LG OLED set perchance? There was an update just before the weekend which fucked up some on board apps on my C8 for a few days, it seems to be happier now

@fontgeeksogood No, it's a battered old LED 3D TV. Will check when it last updated when I get home - though feels more like the PC than TV; as I say, I can see and play 'old' content but not anything added in the last week or so.

I thought OLED was the thing that stopped people mourning plasma but thatís the second time this week someoneís made a similar comment. Maybe I should stick to my last of its kind Panny

The best setting is to put a CRT in the middle and point a webcam at it, then display that on the TV

Nah more time I spend with it the more I utterly fall in love with it.

There's just so much rose colored glasses about this. I had a plasma TV and it was fine. Heavy, expensive, energy inefficient and too glossy, but fine.

That doesn't make it piss on most of the current Tv's unless you wilfully ignore price

Still go my Panasonic Plasma P42G10 from 2009. Still great pic at 1080p but I think it's time for a 65" C9.

I'm with Decks, I really had no idea you could get a picture like this from a home TV. It's ridiculous.

I'm actually really interested in what we'll have in 5 years, if only for these things to become stupid cheap.

I'm having my den remodelled in the new year, knocking through two rooms and I think anything under 75" will look a bit weird, it's going to be a big seating space.

I wonder if this is why posh people don't have tellies

I have a reasonably large lounge and I couldn't even imagine anything bigger than the 55". I think I'd need higher ceilings to consider that.

The sofas will be near enough 20 feet away. It would be projector distance but there are big 'patio' doors running along the side of most of it and I love natural light so don't want to draw blinds (which don't exist anyway).

    Maybe I can get a 2009 51" plasma

That's a nice idea but my expensive cheap ass house probably has extremely thin floors so I'd twat my head on it when I'm in the basement
