Sony is generally the best for motion handling, both OLED and LCD.

I see the Q80t is around £1200 for the 65"now, which would have made me um and ah a few weeks ago.

Exactly my thoughts. As with all tech, you'll turn yourself in knots if you think about it too much. Go with the best you can afford and accept there may be compromises along the way.

Not sure whether to just wait and hope for models with little compromise or bite the bullet to tie in with next gen. Do LED TV's handle motion better?
In my experience, it tends to be broadcast telly when the source is crap. You might get the odd bit of judder on slow panning shots on films etc but the benefits far out way the few times you might notice it.

@Dougs Fair points. I suppose it's just the cost. You just want to feel like 10 years on and for the price, you're upgrading in every way. But sounds like my plasma might have a thing or two over the OLED's.
I'll have to look at some Sony TV's too, it's the CX that dominates the recommendation lists

Motion for sports and handling crap sources are the only things I think my plasma did better. And even then, it was. 37" set, so the jump to 55" means that the latter was probably always going to be an issue.

The LG OLEDs are far from perfect but there will always be compromises and what they do brilliantly will blow you away imo.

65" CX arrived today. Top left corner is bent forwards so much the screen has come out of the frame. FFS. Hopefully can get it replaced quickly.

Morning, random question for any owners of a 65 inch LG CX!
Iím wanting to get one in the next week but I need to know if it will fit my current wall bracket and still have enough space below it to fit the centre speaker that sits underneath.
If possible, could a helpful owner please measure the distance on the back of the TV from the bottom set of VESA bolt holes to the actual bottom of the TVs bezel so I can see if itís comparable with the distance on my current 50 inch TV.
Iíve a feeling it might not be, as generally I believe the VESA bolt holes are centred on the back of a TV, but worth a check.

Hoping I donít have to move the wall bracket. :(

I'd have said it's quite likely given the size difference.....

Hmm, looking at the position of the holes in the picture on of the back panel, they do seem quite low and not centred. Might get away with it!

Iíll measure it for you when I get up.

Was ordered from Currys. Spent two hours on the phone to them last night. They said an exchange would arrive next week when they get new stock, but Iíve had no email confirmation of that so no idea if itís actually happening.

Bloody disappointed, upgraded both my TV and Sound system five weeks ago for the new gen consoles only to have both develop faults.
The TV a 65" Samsung Q95 looses sound on its internal speakers in a intermittent manor, sometime okay, other times within in hour, just a pop from the speakers then silence. Only way to fix it is switch off and leave for a good hour. Fortunately the panel is good as that is a whole other minefield with this model, hopefully its just a shitty connect box?

Unfortunately Richer Sounds will not take it back at the moment and its booked with Samsung's tool monkeys ICTV which means it will be gone for weeks and come back still broken based upon previous experiences with a KS8000 that had to go for repair.

The soundbar the top line Samsung Q90R is being picked up by Richer Sounds, that has major issues across the board with rear sub dropping out and rear speakers only working when they feel like it.

It feels like I've spent over 3K on a load of tat from a jumble sale at the moment. And the KS8000 I gave to a good friend to help them out which leaves me with an old Panasonic in the shed that will be pushed back into use, if it still works.

This is a weird one, I had planned on swapping my CX die to a strange plastic burning smell but changed my mind so cancelled the exchange. John Lewis still tried to turn up to swap the TV but I let them know it was fine so off they went. I've just gone into my account and there's a credit for 1300 quid, I presume the TV that went back has been booked in as a return.

Was definitely tempted to keep the credit until the other half said to get in touch with them tomorrow. Maybe they'll give me a nice reward....haha

Fuck that, their mistake. Set it aside and if they realise in a few months, give it back.... otherwise, free telly imo.

I'm not sure whether they could legally make claim to it and not sure I'd want to find out!

    I have a b9 and they're bottom oriented.

I think it's the same for most of them as the top half of the set is mostly glass panel so doesn't house any spare space.

    I think you'll be fine.

Anyone can come and check my holes if they're bottom oriented.

If they do, pay it back, they are not going to want to spend cash involving lawyers etc, would be more expensive than the set itself. Most likely it'll just be written off. Same thing happened to a friend of mine with a outdoor sofa set from Amazon. Very little chance they'll chase imo.

    Cheers Zomoniac 👍🏼

Using pictures I think itís about 15cm from the bottom bolt holes to the bottom of the tv bezel. Iíve got a bit of wiggle room with the distance so should be ok. Cheers all.

Personally I'd let them know, feels quite a lot like stealing to me.

Once I claimed money back on a TV that went on sale after I had bought it - twice - JL ended up giving me £150 too much because they did the full amount both times - I let them know but they let me keep the money anyway.
