What a bummer. I feel sorry for them.

At least this didn't happen a year ago, but I guess they are part way through making thier next film too... :-/

so that's what all the commotion was about this morning. (Aardman that is) That's a real shame I bet there are loads of other good things knocking around in there too.

    Hope Morph's ok :)

I guess the new film props etc will be onsite at the studios (which are about 10 miles away) so they should be fine.

This looks like it was just the historical stuff all the old films and shorts.

    Shame.

But it seems like the new movie is a smash hit, so they will most likley be able to deal with the loss.

Poor buggers. Some of the sets and props are phenomenal. Loved Wallace's old A35.

I'll bet it's arson. People "arson around"!

Seriously though, this is gutting. Saw the new film at the weekend and it was awesome (hence quote above).

Right after the creator of W&G announced today it was "a dream come true" that his new movie, 'The Curse of the Were-Rabbit', has been so successful in the USA so far.

This world is truly unfair and sucks.

It surprises me they keep EVERYTHING all in one building though.

    Bloody. Hell.

Given the rage i'm in if i lose half an hour's work if my pc crashes i can't even imagine how this must feel.

Doubt it, Razz. It's part of the charm!

    Sounds like it's all the stuff he started off with, too. Hell's bells ;_;

Surely they've made so much bloody money in the past they can afford to archive their stuff in fire proof containers, otherwise they run the risk of losing all their valuable old plasticine shit etc in case a fire breaks out, like now!!!! Dozey Twats!

I hope the building where they make the Walley and Gomez cartoons gets burn't down next (obviously with no humans in it just all their current plasticine piles of doodoo) so that they can't make any more knob cheese animations! Anyway it would have all been insured, I bet their laughing on the way to the bank right now, lucky buggers!

Jesus christ do you honestly believe that allthe man hours the people of that studio put into those items can be replaced with an insurance payout?

    You are genuinely disturbed

No, the man hours that they put into the (fat) Wallet and Gomez animations have already rewarded them with millions of quid in the bank, if I had things that were unique and irreplaceable I'd make sure they were stashed away securely, but you're right I am quite disturbed and proud of it too. Fuck me theres a bit more going on in the world than worrying about a load of plasticine piss like this, I bet you all bought the shite games that came out aswell? Line their pockets some more why don't you?

That's what Nick Park said on the news aswell (well, not exactly liek that). And the props and characters of the latest movie where on tour, so they're safe.

I'm the opposite, can't stand nick parks crap, i'm disgusted at the lack of red arrows flypast for Morph....

... although i remember reading in the paper the other week that the original morph had been bought by someone on ebay and he gave it to his 8 year old son or sommat. How dare he give morph to a kid, wtf!

"Do you see any Teletubbies in here? Do you see a slender plastic tag clipped to my shirt with my name printed on it? Do you see a little Asian child with a blank expression on his face sitting outside on a mechanical helicopter that shakes when you put quarters in it? No? Well, that's what you see at a toy store. And you must think you're in a toy store, because you're here shopping for an infant named Jeb."
