Are you planning on going anywhere else in india too?
Let me know any I'll give you some advice, although I only spent 2 or 3 days in those places. -

Registered 17 years agoI'm going to Delhi for 7 days and Mumbai fo 3. I'm going for work to train people but i will have one or two days to spare.
Whne I travel i like to go to the less obvious places. I like to see the real country if you know what I mean. -

Registered 19 years agoAre you flying between Delhi and Mumbai as you could do an interesting train journey between them instead for a few days and get to see some of the country.
Delhi is really tourist orientated, you can do a day trip to the Taj Mahal from there, which is even more amazing than you'd imagine, but is obviously one of the most touristy things you could do in the world.
Mumbai felt a lot more cosmopolitian as a city, which is busy and vibrant and felt more relaxed. That might have been just my attitude though as it was where I ended my month trip, where as Delhi was at the start.
If you've not been to india before Delhi can come as quite a shock to the system, you will literally get hassled constantly by every taxi driver, shop keeper, beggar and kids. It's not in an agressive way though and you'll soon get very good at politely saying no. It can be a bit draining though with the jet lag and inevitable cultural shock. I think I'd heard too many horror stories and was also a bit paranoid everyone was trying to rip me off. Of course it's not like that at all and by the time I was in Mumbai I was a lot more relaxed. A good piece of advice is to never tell anyone it's your first time in India.
I'll have a think about good stuff to do in both. I really wanted to go and see a bollywood film in Mumbai but didn't have the time. -

Thanks mr rick. It looks like I will indeed go to see the Taj Mahal. Very touristy but looks to be a definite visit.
Looking forward to the trip (I love to travel, especially when its paid for) -

Take your own toilet roll, put it in the fridge in a plastic bag.
Take out when you get the shits... you /will/ get the shits unless your a native.
Cold toilet roll when your arse is like a japanese flag works wonders, trust me

Honest to God Vroom... take a 'zip lock' bag and some of Blighties finest bog roll (that stuff with the aloe vera if you can get it). When you unpack at the hotel get it in the fridge.
