I was watching that clip and checking it off against the PC I have tucked away behind a table, next to a wall with no mouse or monitor plugged into it, simply because it'd be too slow for anything I want to use it for which can't be controlled over VNC. Size of the hard drives, amount of RAM (up until a few days ago when I scavenged some old cards) was also 64megs... infact, my torrent machine is better since it's a BX and theoretically capable of supporting up to 850MHz :D

Goes to show, though. 1998 isn't that long ago.

Can anyone confirm that the couple who present the MS Flight Sim videos are funnier in a "so cringingly crap they're funny" kind of way?

I bought my current PC in 1997. It's since been upgraded to have a massive 4 and a bit gigs of hard disc space, and 68MB of RAM (a 64 and a 4). Feel the power!

Are you sure the machine could handle that much 3x7r3m3 power?

I remember having a P1 166mmx with some really ace stuff in it, then me mate got the state of the art P2 300 and i was so jealous..... This vid sounds like 97'98ish But before unreal obviously.

Anyway, nothing suprises me anymore these days. 4 gigs of ram and such a pretty much standard/avarage.

Perhaps im the only one, but i always feel like the games back then where far better than they are now, because they opend up a world that i had never seen before. When i first saw unreal, i just dropped out of me chair. But even if i would see fotorealistic images today, i wouldnt be really impressed. Seems that you get used to that kind of stuff.

ps: 10k rpm? wtf? I have that now, back then i had like 5.2k rpm....
