Get some friends together and hire a barge.
12 of us took out a barge on the Warwickshire ring some years ago and had a scream.

Weather should be atrocious this time of year, which seems to tick another box for you.

Six hundred dollars a night is still a little out of my price range Razz ;-)

Cheers for all these suggestions guys. This sounds better than lying in the sun in the Canaries for a week by miles anyway!!

Why not come visit me in china. I'll show you a blinding time. Flights are cheap at the moment too.

Actually we are planning a trip to the Far East next year anyway. We're going to go to Japan, we may even be moving there for a bit, but a stop off in China could definately be in order! When are you going to be there?

From this Saturday till Early April. :/ Gonna miss eachother! Dang! But who knows... I might not come back.

Prague's quite romantic, you can go see the Ossuary made from the bones of 40,000 people too.

But if she's shit for walking anywhere it's a no-no. Trust me. :)

We may not miss each other Razz, it would probaby be March when we go out there if we do go. I'll let you know what we're planning when I know more.

@warlock - I'm the one that's shit for walking as it goes :)

Cross-country skiing between Fjällstations in Jämtland, might be an alternative. I've walked there in summer and it is a stunning landscape.

It is a bit weather dependant though. Tempratures might go as far down as -35 degrees centigrade in february when they open again. But if you chose to stay in the hostels and not in tents and go there in late march early april it shouldn't be to hard.

If that is too adventurous there are cruises along the norwegian coast that are supposed to be quite stunning. Google for "hurtigrutten" to find out more about those.
