    What is the point of fully rebuilding it? Surely then it would be indistinguishable from a replica? The whole point of that boat and what makes it famous is the crash. Can you name any other speed record breaking vehicles?

    I can see what she is wanting tho - she wants it to be seen as a nice piece of engineering not a load of crash remains. They should keep the damaged version alongside a replica of a perfect example.

    I can also understand she might not want people gawping at the wreck that killed her Dad. However, there is no need to destroy the wreck, you could just not put it on display and use a replica instead. Until she pops her clogs and then the wreck can go on display too.
