Every song on OK Computer is absolutely brilliant, but as an album, to listen to the whole way through, it has to be In Rainbows.

OK Computer for the brilliant compositions, unconventional tunings and the occasional seemingly asonorical instrumentation that actually turns out to be beautifully melodic.
Fuck, that sounds pretentious. ok computer is just really good mkay

I just bought the Bends tho so I may change my mind after listening to it

OK Computer - No Surprises is probably my favourite song of theirs.

I've decided that In Rainbows is my favourite. Strikes the balance between experimental and accessible wonderfully.

I don't know what this means, but OK Computer is their best.

OK Computer is basically Thom Yorke looking at the world around him (at the time) and thinking "My god, we are a bit fucked aren't we?"

That's the concept, and the main reason he basically had a nervous breakdown during and especially after the albums release.

But his depression was the catalyst for Kid A/Amnesiac so you have to wonder if it was a terrible thing really...

But why would you prefer something "mainly because of the concept"?

Well when you understand where Yorke is coming from on OK Computer, it does kind of make perfect sense what he is singing about and lift's it well above the 'miserable rantings' that many people just think of when they hear Radiohead

It's easy to see every album as a concept looking at it that way, but I can see what he meant now I supoose.

OK Computer, closely followed by In Rainbows. Kid A would probably come third

Well now that I've listened to The Bends, Kid A, OK Computer, Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows - over and over again, mostly while high -

    1. OK Computer
    2. Kid A
    3. In Rainbows
    4. Hail to the Thief
    5. The Bends

    Now to buy Amnesiac.

As much as I like Yorke's voice, I think he should tone down the high-pitched whining an itsy bitsy wittle bit. His performances can be very powerful and emotionally charged and there's enough nuance in there to (almost) dethrone Cornell as my favourite living vocalist. But Christ, have a glass of water and take a deep breath before singing the next verse once in a while.

Amnesiac is brilliant. It's basically a different version of Kid A. A better one imo.

Amnesiac is a very underrated album, I'd put it above Hail To the Thief and Kid A

    1. OK Computer
    2. In Rainbows
    3. Kid A
    4. The Bends
    5. Hail to the Thief
    6. Amnesiac
    7. Pablo Honey

Once again I cannot rank the top few (OK, Kid A, In Rainbows etc)

Pablo Honey is last, obv. Stop Whispering, however, is great. The Bends has gone from being uber in my eyes to...not quite as good as the later stuff, so...nah. But still great.

The Bends is a great indie album. But Radiohead were destined for much greater things than every other indie band at the time...

OK Computer's got some cracking songs on it, but that Stephen Hawking right? Worst MC ever! What's he on about now?

I'd have to say The Bends is my favourite Radiohead album, simply because it blew me away when I first heard it.

    OK Computer
    Kid A
    The Bends
    In Rainbows
    Hail to the Thief
    Amnesiac
    Pablo Honey

TBH The top 6 changes on a daily basis. The only album I don't care for at all is Pablo Honey.

Never bought any after OK Computer :(

Loved The Bends though - opening chords of Street Spirit still brings a tear to my eye. Fake Plastic Trees too - must get around to updating my collection!

    Towering above the rest.
  • Deleted user 11 July 2009 00:04:40
Its probably passe to even whisper it these days but Creep really was very good when it was released - Anyone Can Play Guitar also...good to read so much positive comment for their later albums and I can see me dropping a few notes HMVs way this weekend
  • Deleted user 11 July 2009 00:29:39
Yeah, pablo honey has some great tracks, but overall its a weak album, OK, Rainbows and Kid A are fooking top though.

Must download that Best Of album on iTunes actually. Missed the whole Radiohead thing I did.
  • Deleted user 11 July 2009 00:34:48
    FUCK YOU!!!

They really have to be listened to on album format, especially, OK, Kid A and Rainbows.
