I've listened to it a few times today now and I'm sad to say I think it's absolute garbage. There's no coherence to it whatsoever. Just beeps and glitches all over the place and the tracks go absolutely nowhere. It reminds me of being in high school and pressing the Automatic Tune button on the Yamaha, then setting the keyboard to galaxy sounds and pressing the keys every now and then.
    RIP Radiohead 1999-present

    Greenwood is the brains perhaps!

Haven't properly listened to Thom's second solo album either, but love The Eraser and Amok.

If you like Amok, you'll like this. It's better than TMB. The last four tracks in particular are awesome.

See, I LOVE Amok - it's full of bangers. Think it's the best non-Radiohead Radiohead thing going. But hate this so far.

His sound track to You Were Never Really There is we'll worth a listen.

I watched the short film and like it. Mainly because it sums up how I feel about the London underground.

The album has got a really good 8.3 from Pitchfork and a 3 from Guardian so it seems a bit polarising so far. It will take me a fair few listens because it does seem a bit listless.

Pitchfork review scores are like throwing paint at a wall, unless it's Kanye and then it always gets a 10.

I have noticed that with Pitchfork. Although they turned me onto Big Thief which I now adore so I'm grateful.

As for Anima, now I've had a few listens I really like it. Some really great stuff on there. Certainly helps having a smoke beforehand though.

    Runawayay in particular is stunning.

Suspirium final is a great tune off the Suspiria sound track too.

Anybody watched the Anima short on Netflix? Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson…

Yeah, it's interesting. Going to watch it again once I get my ear used to the music.

Great choreography and summed up my feelings about the underground.

I still can't get over how perfect Pyramid Song is.

It sounds like it manifested itself fully formed from another world.

Best single piece of work they've ever done IMO, which is saying a lot. They've made many other masterpieces (Reckoner, How to Disappear Completely and Everything In Its Right Place to name a few obvious ones) , but nothing as ethereal or eerily timeless as Pyramid Song.

My favourite too. But my opinion isn't worth that much because I think they are incredibly overrated.
