I recently found all my old Game Gear stuff, and within it I re-found the great 'Super 6 in 1' cartridge. But I want to know, is it fake?

Apart from containign a fish as the sticker on the cartridge, with no obvious relevance to the contents, it also isn't on the 'list of Game Gear games' page at Wikipedia. Also, it reads 'Namcot' on some of the games instead of Namco.

    The games on it are:

    OutRun
    Columns
    Ninja Gaiden
    Galaga '91
    Pac-Man
    Woody Pop

    Any insight?

Sounds like a distinctly dodgy copy. Unusually not many of those made it over here so it might well be worth more than you think!

What's more odd is Galaga and Woody Pop weren't even released for the Game Gear. weird.

Its probably one of those dodgy carts you can pick up on holidays to Tenerife...

Not sure. I think those are all seperate catridges, mine is all in one catridge. Thus I would think mine is indefinately fake.

    sorry... didn't see that.

Then no, it's not my cart, as mine ONLY has 6 games. It's better! heh heh.
It's probably made by the same people who made mine.

You could buy that in Istanbul's bazaars in Turkey for about, ooooo, 40p. So I'd say, now that everyone knows that courtesy of me, it's worth, oooooo, 39p... sorry. They have all the PSP fakes, etc. Closer than Japan (and cheapetr than Liksang) too! :D

So what, are you saying it was made in Turkey? Did you see a copy?

Or are you just adding pointless posts?

It sounds like a very dodgy pirate cart, however there was an offical multiple games in 1 cart that was given away with the machine towards the end of its life. When I worked in Game they still had one rolling around the stock room. I wish I'd bought it to keep and sell on ebay, as it was Mint in box.

The GameGear whould happly run Mastersystem games as they were more or less the same device, the colour where different as the GG had a larger pallet.

You could get an adaptor from Sega that let you play GG games on the MasterSystem.

hmmm... I do actually have a thing that lets you play Master System games on the Game Gear.

And I do have that compilation cartridge. Two in fact... with manuals aswell.

I seem to recall the offical multi cart was all Sega games, and I think sonic was one of them along with a puzzle game (Mean Bean Machine?).

there was also this multigame cart

I suspect what you have is a pirate collection, of which there are loads around for just about every cartridge baseds console. do you have any pictures of it?

I'll try and get a picture of the supposed pirate cart later today.

The legit compilation cart I have has a football game, tennis game (with Sonic as the umpire), driving game and Columns... is that what you were talking about???

I suspected it was what you suggested because apart from Columns, it is the only cartridge I have two of, and I found two extra Game Gears aswell, so... [insert more bad flow of logic here]

    EDIT: oh, that's the one...

Although it sounds like a bootleg company, all early namco stuff on the home consoles was released under the "namcot" name.

I've got Famicom, pc engine, and mega drive games all with "Namcot" on
