I was going to buy a book for my young ladies birthday (which i just realised is on sunday) which see really wanted (along with a few other things). Unfortunately see's somewhere the other side of the atlantic.

so buy book from amazon - £15
Wrap it in nice paper and write card - time and £4ish
Padded envelope to send it - £1
Postage (and i'm not exagerating on this, i check for another package which was half the weight) - Min £18
Chance of getting it there in time - not a snowball in hells chance.

total £38 and hassle for present not being there on time

Alternatively. Buy it from Amazon US
Cost of book inluding postage, wrapping service and next day delivery £14

First WTF on the difference in price on the book. It costs twice as much at amazon UK and its a book published in the UK.

Secondly, what a fantastic service. Wrapped and delivered for £3. I'm going to use it for all my christmas presents

Good old Amazon - closing down an independent bookshop near you. ;)

Nah seriously, they're a boon. Especially if you want the ending of a book spoiled in the review.
