Registered 18 years agoSony *really* aren't having much luck lately are they?
They may have weakened the anti-piracy stance as well with this being classed as malware or a trojan. People will be much more weary of such products in future. -

Well, not yet, but I guess it's reasonable to assume that this could be a next step. -

Registered 20 years agoIt's all a plan to bring down MS. Think about it.
Sony release CDs that when inserted into Windows PCs change system files and cause system stability problems*.
People see the return of Win9x days of BSoDing whenever you tried to just write a Word document and look into the alternatives.
MS lose out on the biggest market for their software and have to reign back the spending on beating the PS3.
Sony wins the prize of taking over with a closed, DRM to the asses, multimedia network running their devices with their technology distributing their content.
*I mean, if you wanted to genuinely try and foolishly prevent digital copying of your content (and potentially break a few national laws in the process) why on earth would you make something that only works on Windows PCs? It's not like it'll do anything if you plug it into a *NIX or MacOS machine. -

Registered 18 years ago... because all Windows users are filthy pirates spoiling it for the lovely, fluffy, cash paying Linux and Mac users of course.
