Registered 17 years agoalright - wow what a response, getting me out of the dressing room for an encore.
Cheers Boab, not been on the snooker in a while, been playing golfquestionmark and getting addicted.
Just to make a few points clear. Its not so much that that thread 'cut me so deep emotionally' - it didnt. It did highlight to me though that i am on here reading what basically amounts to some decent guys and gals posting some interesting threads and the rest of it being a load of argumentative shite and people trying out their freshly store bought morals and telling other people exactly how they should have acted, and exactly what they know and dont know.
Foreverafternothing, cheers for highlighting the 'in my eyes' bit, i appreciate that it is in your eyes but allow me to respond. Its not the worst thread ever, i agree. It didnt upset me so much that i was close to tears or anything - what it did do was help to open my eyes to the situation as i see it that there are more wanks than good guys on the site. I thought the way the thread descended into farce and insult was pathetic, and i dont wish to be a part of it any longer. I dont post regularly, but i have been a regular visitor to the site pretty much everyday for well over a year, but hey, its the internet, its a forum and i can choose what to read and what not to read. i am exercising that choice by stopping my visits here.
to the others, regarding how offended i was by the thread. I wasnt offended, as ive said. just bored and disappointed.

Registered 18 years agoActually the most offensive thing in that thread was something Deem said. I don't know whether or not it was said in jest (sans smiley), but either way it made me do a double take, and unsuprisingly had disappeared when I next refreshed. -

personally i view things the other way round, theres much more good than bad.
but i respect your opinion, and also the fact that you answered me back in a civil manner. i didn't mean to sound harsh, i just felt you rushed to a conclusion.

Registered 20 years agoThat word's been around a long time and has gained other meanings along the way. Despite the assertation in the following, I'm reasonably certain that it didn't start out as a term for female genitals, but was used to describe a groove in a tool. Do a search around and you'll find better links.
From Wordorigins
This word for the female genitalia dates back to the Middle English period, c.1325. (Although researchers have found a London street named Gropecuntelane from c. 1230.) Although the word cannot be traced back further than this, there are cognates in a variety of other Germanic languages, indicating a Germanic origin.
Cunt does not come from the Latin cunnus, which is also a term for the female pudenda, although a common root back in the mists of time cannot be discounted. Use of the word as term of abuse for a woman is a 20th century sense, dating to 1929.
I would argue that the abusive use of the word has become non gender specific. Words are great. -

I was actually having a discussion about "names for girls bits that they would actually find sexy" yesterday. Couldn't come up with one!
Pussy- Sleazy
Cunt - Horrid
Minge - Yech
etc
Socket was the best.
Would be a good topic for the Loaded/Nuts forums. -

I dunno. 'Mitten' is quite cute. Not really sexy though, I suppose. -

I'm pretty sure 'pussy' is the way to go tbh. It's not that offensive, and the sleaze can work as sexy. -
