Ok, I got my NTL Broadnand and every 3 minutes of so I lose my connection, so i gotta type fast!

The installer dude set up two lan connection that are both running

One is a 10Mbps and seems to work ok

The other says 100Mbps(?) and has "Limited or no connectivity"

The modem is connected with a usb cable and a network cable.

With only th 100Mbps connection running I can use messagner but no the internet.

With only the 10 I get nothing.

    Any ideas?

Unplug the USB connection and only use the LAN connection.

    Cheers.

Seems to be working fine. Here's hoping I last past the 3 minute mark.

Try unplugging the modem for about ten seconds and plug it back in. Then do the "repair " option when you right click the LAN connection in "network connections".

USB is pish...nothing but trouble here using it with a NTL modem so stick to the ethernet connection...much more stable.

Oh and make sure "automatically detect settings" is ticked on the LAN settings tab for whatever browser you use.

Tried all these and still getting the same problem. One of my mates reckons it could be a virus. I'll check that out before i go castrate ntl.

    Cheers for your helps.

    ;_;

Ran Stinger (after updating it during the few minutes the internet works at the start) - Found nothing.

Ran Housecall - Found 6 infections but had to link to another page to tell me what they were so its crashed (this after waiting 3 hours for it to finish).

Ran Adware - Found 6 infections, removed them.

Ran Microsoft AntiSpyware - Found 11 infections, removed them

Downloaded all Microsoft Updates (which was fun with my Internet freezing up every few minutes).

Flushed my DNS (or something, for a Microsoft techie my Internet knowledge is woefully.) Said it had repaired stuff but no use.

Checked for updates for my modem drivers, nothing.

    Anyone any ideas?

I've noticed that the more active I am online the longer it seems to last. it still goes anyway, but just seems to last a bit longer, probably just coincidence.

If it's anything like their customer support, then no.
