Does it cause it to screw up? Im talking about running, sit ups, push ups and weights while its in my pocket.

    Is it not advisable?

my 20gb 3g has survived so far. I suppose it's not the best thing you cann do to the HD but i haven't had any problems.

Although I tend to attach it to the running machine if I'm in the gym, I've been out on the streets with it too with no real problems.

I think a lot of people bought a shuffle for this very purpose, but I shouldn't think it'll mind it as long as you're not boxing with it sellotaped to your face... or something...

My Ipod mini has survived 6 weeks of gym going without any problem. Only issue is once when it jumped out of pocket on the treadmill, and there is now a small dent lower right corner. Hasn't effected the playing of tunes though! Use the clip it comes with and you'll be fine, or buy one of those armband things. They seem to be quite popular

Only the plus side the dent is a good identifier, you'd be amazed how many people have blue ipod mini's in my gym!!

Used my 10 gig 3g ipod while exercising, and the disc broke after a couple of weeks (before that i noticed that the tracks skipped while running). I got ii replaced, and for a year i used it for every activity except running and didn't have a problem. Now I use it for running too, but with those new logitech bluetooth wireless headphones for the ipod, and they are great and have good range, so i don't have to keep the ipod in my pocket where the running movement would ruin it's disc.

Yup thats the correct answer :)

I used my 4G 20gb ipod to do all the aboved including running. It eventually screwed the ipod with tracks randomly skipping. I've just recieved my replacement unit and I dont think I'll be using while I run.

How much are those logictech bluetooth headphones?

Using an ipod while on the treadmill killed my 20g 3g, so I bough a small flash memory mp3 player for exercising.

    Aint gonna risk it again!

The logitech headphones cost 150 euros here in Portugal.
    Headphones

There is a cheaper, black version if you don't mind losing the remote control options on the phones

    Hmm, never had a problem.

I would recommend getting a remote and then putting the ipod in the little holder that the machines have and using the remote...

If you're breaking your Ipod while you're running on a treadmill, you are probably running incorrectly. You should be running in a smooth controlled manner-- if your feet are making a loud "BANG BANG BANG" when you run, you aren't running right. Turn the speed down and focus on proper running form (focus on keeping a tight core and perfect stabalization), or you'll create all types of crappy muscle imbalances that'll only increase your chances of injury-- to both you and your Ipod.
