Just been told my car will cost best part of £600 quid to repair. As i only paid £650 for it 8 months ago, i am considering getting something 'nearly new' on some kind of finance deal. Any recommendations?

Steer clear of large industrial car dealers, especially ones that offer servicing within their package.

You would almost certainly be better off deciding you limit, then getting a loan from a bank, preferably online. The interest will be a lot cheaper, and will give you a greater flexibilty in where you can look for/buy your new car from.

Or do the bargain basement motoring, and buy another cheap one. Or you could fix it yourself. Whats wrong with it out of interest ?

ahhh junk mail. i knew it would be useful someday.

steerings buggered. needs a new steering collum, some suspension bushings, a cv joint, two tyres + the tracking adjusting. Plus needs a new sump. I can prob do some of that myself.

i might just grit my teeth, pay and then change cars next year maybe.

Bin it. Theres no point repairing that kind of stuff on a car of that value, unless its a classic your planning on getting restored !

We got our near-perfect condition ex-rental Zafira from Trade Sales, and basically saved 5K over the same car dealer-new. We got our loan from Lombard direct, after checking out the best deals in the Observer.
