In which the main character, or a main side character, claims that to be human is the desire to "be more than what you are." Or something similar.

Presumably involving robots, or AI, or something that isn't quite human trying to be human... or whatever. Can't put a finger on it, and I plan to use it in an interview soon.

    Could it be Bicentennial Man?

Bicentennial Man sucks. Sounds like something Data might say in Star Trek, but I don't think it's Bicentennial Man.

    Star trek: Generations: Data

    You stupid man :p

Are you actually going to quote it in an interview?

Anyone who squeezes "Johnny 5 is alive" into an interview should be fasttracked.

No, that's who you are. Funny, I thought of it too, though.

You're right, it's Data from Star Trek Nemesis. Thanks all.

Derbs: I was going to. Not so sure now I've identified the source. Only as an analogy for a point I was going to make, though.

Does the job entail any dusting?
'cos I have a note from my mum about that.

If somebody during a job interview used a Star Trek line I'd probably have to point towards the door because I'd be too busy laughing to tell them they can leave now.

    I shouldn't need to ask.
