It's awesome. The first 7 issues have just been released in a hardcover TPB and we're now up to issue 9 in comic format. It's exactly how superhero books should be - good characters, plenty of explosive action, well written and nicely drawn/coloured. It's really reminded me of what got me into these books in the first place. Recommended. edit: and we need an 'Art' filter. Edited by Derblington at 15:02:15 11-12-2005 |

I really like the book. The story isn't mindblowing but it's dramatic enough for the characters involved. It starts off with a bit of dimension hopping (but it's not shitty X-men style stuff) and a life threatening situation. The second arc i haven't started reading yet but I've 'flick-read' panels to get the jist and it's another good one from the characters p.o.v, if you get my meaning. They're dealing with big problems straight away and they're just not prepared for it.
It's drawn by an English guy, Jim Cheung (Scion was his last major project I believe), and it's a nice style and shows how he's improving from title to title. It's written by one of the writers of the 1st season of The O.C (the guy who made Seth a comic geek in the show) and it's nice writing, clear and uncluttered.
I really like it.

Registered 18 years agoGah! Runaways is great. Not so keen on the second 'season' but the first run was great.
It's not as good as Young Avengers though, so I'll give Derbs my first ever +1 for that. -

Registered 18 years agoYeah, it's super-sweet.
It's all about the characters, a new revelation each week. They've come so far as individuals since #1 where they were mini-clones of the Avengers. Really well written and defies standard comic-book "Young ..." series rules. -
