    @JoelStinty

    Just popped that on record now.

    I watched Three Identical Strangers last night, a should be on 4OD still. Brief synopsis, three Identical twins are separated at birth and find each other at the age of 19. Where it goes from there is really quite shocking.

    Was that on tv ? Didnít notice it on the TV guide and quite fancy seeing that. 4OD it is then!

    @JoelStinty

    Free Solo was pretty awesome and frightening/inspiring in equal measure. To have the amount of dedication, mentally and physically, to the extent that the potential consequences of failure can be buried is quite astounding.

    If I was his Mrs though I think Iíd be asking him to stop now.

    I think it's pretty irresponsible to do that kind of stuff if you're in a relationship. Particularly if (for example) you have kids. I don't know that life insurance would pay out if you're just risking your safety for fun.

    It's still amazing, of course. I guess I just don't understand the mindset behind it.

    @Fourwisemen Annoyingly my sky box died last night. New one arriving tomorrow. So hopefully it is on again later in the week. Look forward to watching it.

    Lost Arcade (Amazon Prime)

    Really nice look at Chinatown Fair in New York, a grimy looking arcade and the people in and around that community. No real edge to it, just a kinda heartwarming and video games related of course. Worth a watch

    I have a suggestion. Do not watch "Making a Murderer".

    Even the documentaries about UFO or Flat-Earthers is better than this piece of poo-poo built on lies.
  • Deleted user 4 March 2019 15:41:47
    I know that one. The innocent man got framed for murder. Hope he's released soon.

    Three Identical Strangers was good, there was more to the story than I thought.

    The Michael Jackson sex abuse doc , "Finding Neverland" is on C4 on Weds/Thurs.

    I'm not sure about that Louis Theroux from tonight. An accused rapist getting an international platform to tell his story while his accuser-victim has been shamed into silence and elected not to take part.

    The history of college sexual asssults is not one of bright young men being brought low by the frivolous accusations of women as this bro and countless others would have us believe. I'm not sure Louis fully managed to puncture his BS to the degree it deserved.

    @JamesUK

    I watched the Jacko Doc last night, very uncomfortable to watch but also eye opening and a compassionately produced film.

    I feel uncomfortable recommending it, the same way I did when I went to Auswitz, itís shouldnt be considered entertainment but as a learning experience very worthwhile.

    Just dipping into the Storyville episode on Ratko Mladic. Another fascinating watch. For conflict that took place in Europe in my late teens, I realise I know relatively little about it. Just awful

    Not sure I'd even want to watch that. Horrible cunt that he is.

    In contrast, I recommend 'Matangi / Maya / M.I.A.' (on Amazon etc).

    Watched Abducted in Plain Sight on Netflix.

    Not top tier but worth a watch. Tells the story of a dude who wins the trust of a family before manipulating them and abducting their daughter.

    Itís not a huge complaint but in watching a bunch of them over the past few years, I see more and more doccos using reconstructed footage scenes. But they now go so far with stylising the footage to look of the era, that unless the viewer stops to think about its legitimacy, youíre clearly being led to thinking this is legit footage.

    I understand the need to do it. This one would have been very dull without it, as it relies so much on present day interviews to tell the story. The Waco doc seemed to have legit footage and reconstruction and the lines really blurred between the two.

    Binged through about 5 episodes of Sunderland Til I Die last night. Production values are off the scale. Decent watch so far

    Not sure if this has been posted before but it is amazing. The story of Mark Bingham and how he became the name of an international gay rugby tournament and how that grew to what it is now:

    Last Breath I don't know if this has been linked before , I checked back a few pages and didn't see it though . If you haven't heard of the story don't read any more than the description on the iplayer link , some parts are pretty tough to watch and it's a little too long maybe but I found even the boring technical stuff about North Sea diving interesting as I had no clue about it before this .
