Just found this rather cool review of something called the NEX over at IGN. Its basically a NES re-release, shrunk down to diddy size, and now with wireless controllers. pretty pointless on the practicality front, especially given that the rev will soon be upon us. But its just too cool to ignore.

    SNES Reborn \o/

Ahem, sorry. Well, it does look pretty cool. But as you said, it's rather pointless. I'd love to have one though, just to show off. ;-)

Not pointless I don't think, the Rev looks like a shit system to me, paying for games you might own? What a rip off. Also I heard they won't be able to sell certain files, such as WWF No Mercy, since of the licensing issues. Think you're better off getting all the consoles and their respective format of games.

Can you buy one? Not that I would mind... just interested in how much something like that would retail for...

Are you talking about the Nex Razz? If so, site lists it as $59.99.

It looks pretty awesome to me... Been looking around on the web but can't find anywhere that'll import to Europe. :(

Lik-sang, even though they are sold out of all the NES/famicon consoles, but when they get stock.
Play-asia, they have some famicon consoles, not the NEX though.

Not apparantley- definately shit as an emulator. So much so that most retailers stopped selling them because of how piss poor the machine was. Lock-ups, sound errors and just plain refusing to play games at all :/

and another (proper) review of the Nex: Here

Sounds like it's best to avoid it then. Maybe I'll just get the Blaze Fami handheld instead.

One more reason for me to want one.

WWF No Mercy is the best beat-em-up ever IMHO.

I second that notion. I was big on wrestling then, and even though I'm not now, it's the best fighting engine ever made. It's a shame AKI don't make wrestling games anymore.

The reviews say it's horrible. I prefer the old NES' anyway. Big is better.
