Hi Chaps, Yesterday somebody dug up the old Time Splitters 2 thread and i was a bit shocked to discover i've been around the comments and forums for well over 3 years now (bloody hell how time flies). So, for all you other regulars who remember the good old days before the adverts and when the forums were just a twinkle in Gestalts eye, what was your first ever comment? when did you stop lurking and say hello (this is more for us oldies!) I'm still trying to track mine down! I thought it was in the Roller Coaster Tycoon review but alas, it doesn't seem they have one Do any of the site admins have the skills to find them for us?Edited by Pirotic at 13:06:51 28-12-2005 |

oh well! fresh threads are nice - i hate it when people bump up old threads and i find out i've just spent ages writing a reply to a question from 2002
So how can we find our first ever comments? I'm sure the EG techies can help us

Registered 18 years agoI think my first forum post (I'd been scared to leave the safety of the comments threads for the forum, see) was sticking up for Enter the Matrix, so I'm quite happy we can't search for them. (: )) -

Registered 17 years agoI think I did a CAKE OR DEATH thing in block capitals, with everyone asking me why I was SHOUTING.
I didn't have a clue AS TO WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT!?
Still, I was immensly chuffed that the thread had enough replies to make it go over onto another page. -

Registered 18 years agoI de-lurked in one of the frequent atheism vs religion threads. It's always better to jump right into the controvercies i say.
Edit: Found it.

One of my first was a rampaging thread about BA. I remember deleting a post where I called for Gate Gourmet to die in a terrorist attack. Heh. Can't be bothered to search for it. -

Mine was a sort of piss-take attack on Michael Moore that really pissed a few regs off good and proper.
It did? I doubt that would be the case today. -

I probably said something witty, exciting and incredibly high-brow as most of my preceeding comments have been of this standard!

some facts concerning the awful 'gamezville.'
-the presenters read from their note-cards,therefore im guessing they dont know what the f*ck theyre on about.
-during the tony hawks 4 face off, female contestant pumps herself up with what you mite call 'fighting talk'.she then proceeds to have a '180' point total after 2 minutes playing trick attack, after actually pulling an amazing 180 ollie.
-presenter#2 gets overly excited when male contestant gets the highest points total after 2 minutes,a '4800' point total after pressing random xbox controller buttons.male contestant seems astonished with himself for being so 'good'.
-they have an obsession with adding 'z' to the end of everything on screen,as if it improves the programs quality, which it obvoiusly doesn't (theboyz,gamez.....you get the idea).
-the whole program doesn't help the still-existing stereotypical image of gamers a few mis-informed people have,by making half the audience 'geeks and freaks'(and thats not my opinion,presenter#1 actually calls them that during the advert on sky 1).and yes a lot of them wear 'geeky'(sad word) glasses, awkward clothes and very usual hairstyles.
-one of the presenters gave away a very special, rare, unknown tip away for c&c:generals;you can actually position some soldiers inside buildings!
-ok so it is on at 9am and 4 pm,but that doesn't mean the crowd of people have to hang around the game-players like some children's program.i swear they started this program in the '80s.
-its all so out of date.
-why,why do they have to have mobile games on the show?is it just filler?does anyone actually give a sh*t about the mobile gaming scene?
-not all game players are teenagers.they should know this by now.
.....well id truly hate this program if it wasnt for the extremely amusing 'face-offs'.

is my lack of appropiate capitalization really that much of a problem? does it hurt one's eyes as much as that ghastly lack of spacing in the above quote?
seriously, i can and will happily add appropriate capitalization if the need is there but i am certainly not the only one who goes without it. i just don't use it because i don't think it's a problem and because i'm just so used to going without it in games and IMs. -

Registered 17 years ago...anyway. Anyone got any idea how you find your first post? I type morriss into the search bar and get 1.5 pages of threads that date back about 6 months. -
Aha you missed me, Morriss!
Instead you appear to have shot right at my keyboard, just underneath the Return button!
What a poor shot you are!
I bet you're a noob at CS!
