Just read the above titled comic book and have to say....absolutely brilliant read. Very dark and gritty tale and had me hooked from start to finish. Recently tried getting into comic books so used the local library, got 3 Superman books and the Daredevil one. The Superman ones were awful (Wrath of Gog was one), terrible artwork and woeful story lines. Did not entertain me one little bit. Wrath of Gog was very confusing, no idea what the main story was meant to be. Whereas the Daredevil one was brilliant. So if you like comic books (graphic novels, whatever the proper technical term is) I'd recommend checking it out. |

Registered 18 years agoThe Spiderman and Black Cat mini (started 2 years ago or sommit) is just closing now (Issue 5 of 6 hit this week). I didn't much care for #1 to #3, but it's gotten REALLY good for this second half. I'm quite amazed at how well it's fleshing out. Nice twists and stuff.
Although, it could be the Marvel fanboy in me preferring these newer issues, there's more than one Marvel Universe character coming on board storywise, where Spiderman and Black Cat were the only familiar names in the first three issues. -

Registered 18 years agoIf you liked GD, then try Bendis' Daredevil run. It ends soon, and a little part of me dies with it. -

Wrath of Gog was one mate, can't remember the name of the other two. However one had Superman on the front with about 5 people trying to stick knives in him as the cover art and the other was a hardback with what I woul call "computer drawn" artwork and had a story about meeting his dad in another world after visiting a diner in some outback yokel American town. All were awful imo.
