    This is getting stupid now. My 5 stop, 25 minute journey from Braintree to Chelmsford is now costing me £7 a day for a return. Thats £35 a week on train fares. When my missus is working in Chelmsford, we can put £20 in the car and it will easily last us all week.

    This time last year the fare was under £6 (but still expensive imho). I thought the idea was to encourage people off the roads? If we both decided to get the train rather than drive it would cost us £50 a week more.
