Any tips on removing the crappy Hori screen protector from the bottom screen on my DS? I've been picking at it with both my finger and toe nails, but it still won't budge. I will be OH SO GRATEFUL for any help...as long as the tips don't involve screwdrivers, knives or chisels. |

Registered 16 years agoHave you tried immersing it in a bowl of water and washing up liquid? That might shift it!
(PS Don't actually try that - it was a joke!)
Have never put any screen protectors on myself - I just stick with using a cotton wool bud stick! -

That too, if it doesn't work then a toothpick should do it. Sharp enough that it should work, but shouldn't damage the screen at all. -

But do it slowly. Pulling it up quick could damage your screen. I have seen PDA touchscreens which digitisers screwed up after people who used sellotapes to remove protectors too quickly. -

The masking tape technique worked A-Okay.
Now I have a crap-free bottom screen...and hey, who wants a DS without scratches? I think I'll look like a HARDCORE GAMER if my screen is mutilated. -

Registered 17 years agoWhat's the deal with these screen protectors? I'm a fairly heavy user and my DS (screen) has hardly any scratches.
I'd be more put off by the difficulty of preventing air bubbles forming under the protector when applying it than any light scratches. -

Registered 20 years agoAs I said in a different thread, I only really wanted the screen protector for Ouendan.
Everytime I spun that freaking disc I thought I was going to drill my stylus through the screen! -

Get those washable screen protectors then, I used those on my PDAs and those are fantastic. Because they are thicker, it is easier to push bubbles out using a credit card. And you can remove them and reapply again.
There are two kinds - the matte version which gives a paper kind of feeling to the screen but washed out the colours or the glossy type that has almost no effect on the brightness and colours. Screen protectors are probably more popular on PDAs due to the expensive nature of those gadgets. -

Because I'd rather have no scratches than hardly any scratches personally. -

Registered 20 years agoI've never had a problem removing washable types (e.g. the hori one I have on my DSL) using a fingernail.
It works well too. The cheap as shit one I got from Game for my phat DS is scratched to buggery now, although it's saved the screen from being touched at all. The Hori on my DSL isn't even scuffed yet, and I've had it on there for a year or so. -
Because you're worth it.
