Registered 17 years agoI may be Captain Slow when it comes to running but the weather has never stopped me, hot, cold, snow (a rare original experience where I live) freezing waves soaking me on the sea wall, all good. I have also never shit myself (whilst running). -

Registered 8 years agoYeah its too hot for me. Just a 3 miler there and couldnt catch my breath. I definitely enjoy running in the cold more. Its quite humid which is what does me in. -

Registered 6 years ago@freddymercurystwin I've just dropped back down to the free version after the two months trial. There's a few features that i quite like but not enough to warrant the price for me personally. -

Registered 17 years ago@papalazar0u Yea I thought I might give the free trial a whirl, seems weird (in a way) to give a shit about £7 a month if it was maybe £3/month I'd be less bothered but with subscriptions for Christ knows what else each month you gotta draw the line somewhere. -

Registered 8 years agoI miss all the tracking and stuff. Bit shitty to suddenly lock all that stuff behind a subsciption but I suppose they need to monetise it somehow. I do miss the matched runs the most, but not enough to subscribe. -

Registered 6 years agoYeah i think it's the matched runs for me too, i'm never going to be on a leader board (unless by chance that it's a very hidden segment) but i do like a quick comparison sometimes. Strava Routes I'll miss also, but i've discovered Komoot which is a very nice alternative. -

I mostly use that for the silly games, but it does track some useful stats too. -

Registered 17 years agoWow, scarily slow run this evening but predictable because of the heat, not that I mind the heat as mentioned but hey you burn more calories the longer you run for so happy with that. -

😃 Only if you're good. We had a cake stop on today's cycle. I think the caramel square probably added more calories than i burnt on the 40k bike run.
but hey you burn more calories the longer you run for so happy with that.
On to the hopped&malted recovery beverages now too! 😃 -

Registered 7 years agoThis stupid heat is good timing. I still need to rest my calf after I strained it three weeks ago and have tried to rush back to it 3times. Another few days won’t do it any harm, although I might be back to being really shit, at least I know I can get past the boredom of running now. -

Is your first on the way or is it an older child/toddler. If your first I'd wish you luck, I had notions of this prior to number 1 arriving and all I'll say to that naive fool is "lol"

Registered 6 years agoBaby Maybe is 18 months. Mrs Maybe is suggesting it since I’ve been grumbling that I’ve had no time to exercise during lockdown because working from home and childcare fills every hour between 6am and about 9pm -

Registered 17 years agoI say be that wanker, screw everyone else. Or tell Mrs Maybe that if sanity is to prevail you need a little Me Time for some solo running , which all joking aside is actually pretty important. I don't run with a phone, I'm disconnected from the the world for an hour, bliss.

Registered 7 years agoI’ve seen a couple of people doing it. It’s 5 seconds of seeing them and thinking that’s unusual and then not giving a shit.
I think there are some pushchairs better for it than others. -

Although surely you should be running away from the family, not with -

Registered 6 years agoWe’ve already got a pushchair that’s a running/all terrain type one for walking the trails around here so that side of things shouldn’t be too bad -

Registered 8 years agoI see men and women quite regularly out running with pushchairs. If anything I don't think people think "what a wanker", more "bloody hell that's impressive".

Registered 17 years agoSo a HM booked for the 5 Sep, so many have been cancelled or postponed I saw this one and just thought sod it, a trail jobby on Dartmoor quite possibly a bit of a stretch for me frankly as I'm not really at that distance atm especially with a ton of elevation. I suspect my time will easily surpass 3hrs given the conditions, will spend about 20% of the time walking up stupid hills. I've done plenty of HM's before but not since the beginning of 2019 and only one or two off road. Just hope it not boiling hot.

I'm a bit surprised HMs are going ahead, even in September. Don't think you'd catch me doing one until at least next year.
