Kick off in around 7 minutes - this should be interesting. Another pointless friendly by the sounds of it. Sounds like he's going to be subbing a load of players again.

Oh, just had a gander at the Wales toe on SS1 and there is no-one and I mean NO-ONE in the stadium watching that one. It looks like Paraguay brought more fans than Wales to Cardiff.

I think its quite important tbh. This is to test the "second XI" more than the first, and its the first time Gerrard has had the chance to show what he can do in his favoured position without Lampard.

Plus it's a real chance for Carrick to show he's not just going to be a squad player.

Yeah, I reckon Sven just trying to finalise his squad with the last few remaining 'potentials'. He might as well have done what Chelsea did in Football Icon.

I'm going to sound callous here, but if they give Peter Osgood (who only four caps) a minutes silence, then it makes a mockery of the whole practice.

Will Jason Wilcox or David Bardsley get a minutes silence in the future?

Looks like it's for Ron Greenwood as well.

Dunno if you'rre taking the piss about Geoff Thomas... but whatever limitations he had as a footballer are certainly made up by the fact that he seems a pretty remarkable man...

    His website.

The re-play of the 1990 cup final sounds good... even if it's just going to make us Utd fans weep for the good old days :(

    Pally and Bruce FTW!

I was referring to his single solitary cap and nothing else. Apologies, didn't mean to offend anyone.

Thomas had loads of caps though! :)

But yeah, even I forgot what he's going through. Loads of respect for the man (who I actually thought was one of our better midfielders of the Taylor days).

9 by the looks of it...who the hell am I thinking of then?

Is that all? Wow, I thought he got in to the 20s.

He may have played a few friendlies before they dished out caps for friendlies.

Fecking BBC Wales, in their wisdom, has put on some shoddy programme about Derek the big gay weatherman and Stuart "used to be famous" Cable learning Welsh, and therefore I can't watch the England game on any channel. I'm as Welsh as anyone but I'd much prefer to watch the footy that my licence fee is paying for than that shite.

    /considers complaining to the BBC.

Them...ball got cleared from a deadball, bloke hit it first time (proper volley) right into the top left corner.

As good a strike as I've seen for a while.

    Robbo's fault in any way?

Nope, his position was pretty good - just a well struck volley which looped over him into the top corner.

England friendlies = amazingly fun to watch matches. When did this happen? Don't you lot know they're supposed to be dull scoreless ties anymore?

Listening to it on the net.

I'm not English, but I've felt that Carrick's deserved more of a chance as the anchor than King. He's not much of a marker, but his positional play's normally excellent. Against the likes of Riquelme and Kaka in the World Cup, man-marking wouldn't work anyway, so you might as well play a proper deep midfielder
