Not especially so, but they haven't said anything wrong about him. Terry Butcher mentioned his height favourably during one of the corners, but you'd get that with King too.

Especially as it was down to him being angry at himself for a shite corner and then when he was given the chance to put it in again he buggered that up too.

I never saw the Mallorca game, but his crossing against Arsenal was atrocious up until the last 15 minutes.

He's not playing well is he? Giving the ball away, putting the ball far too close to the keeper and the less said about his shooting the better.

Off topic I know, but Ireland have been fantastic tonight, I'm chuffed to bits. I've been pushing for Reid to be in the team for four years now and tonight I've been vindicated at last. Superb performance in midfield from him.

It's so refreshing to see us playing so positively after the dour negativity of the Kerr era. Bring on the Krauts!

Oh yeah shit, sorry morriss, thats one of the problems with streams...can be up to 10 mins behind :(

lol. which is why I slagged off Crouch and then he scored 10 secs later. Defoe isn't on yet. I'll just avoid this thread 'til it's over.

    That was really good.

Even though Beckham, Gerrard and Lampard are probably all better players, I think that game has shown that Carrick should start for England. What we've lacked for a while now is good shape, and Carrick forces the team into a good shape, and he really makes the most of his passing. He can do the glory ball, but he doesn't go for them every single time like Becks and Gerrad tend to in that position.

Also, obviously Joe Cole was bloody great. Still woudn't mind a left sided player with a left foot, but Joey more than made up for it. Quality. I am however now persuaded that maybe Nolan should have gone instead of Jenas, even though he was pretty solid.

Cheers for the stream Furbish, patch quality but the commentary more than made up for it, even if it was Trevor Francis.

Cole was immense, to use a cliche, I was thinking if there was any justice he'd get a goal and of course he got the winner. :-)

Uraguay were going a bit nuts towards the end though weren't they! :-D

Fecking BBC Wales, in their wisdom, has put on some shoddy programme about Derek the big gay weatherman and Stuart "used to be famous" Cable learning Welsh, and therefore I can't watch the England game on any channel. I'm as Welsh as anyone but I'd much prefer to watch the footy that my licence fee is paying for than that shite.

    /considers complaining to the BBC.

    Dear Matthew

Thank you for your recent message to the BBC regarding Match Of The Day Live.

I was sorry to read of your disappointment upon hearing that BBC Wales did not broadcasting the England v Uruguay friendly. However, if I may take a moment to explain the reasons behind this decision.

Throughout the UK the BBC is committed to providing original programming appropriate to the regions in which viewers live. Within this UK-wide strategy, BBC Wales aims to provide the broad range of programmes our audience demands, which aim to reflect the rich diversity of Wales and its people. BBC1 Wales and BBC2 Wales schedules are designed with the audience in Wales in mind, and raditionally BBC Wales has celebrated St David's Day with special programming for Wales. This year we felt the time was right, especially given that on Wednesday we celebrated the Royal opening of the new Senedd building, to offer viewers something more. We appreciate that some viewers were disappointed that we did not broadcast the England v Uruguay international. However, it should be noted that audience figures on average for these games in Wales are usually well below the national average and in contrast, audience figures last year for our special St David's Day programmes on BBC1 Wales were well above the UK average. We believe that viewers will have appreciated the fact that we celebrated our national day in such a unique way.

Unfortunately due to time constraints it was not possible to offer the match via the interactive service on digital, whilst BBC 2W was already committed to broadcasting coverage of the Welsh Open.

Even so, we do understand that there are many football fans within Wales who may also have been disappointed with the decision not to broadcast the match. Therefore may I assure you that your comments regarding the matter have been registered for the benefit of the schedulers and senior management within the BBC.

Thank you for taking the time to write to the BBC with your enquiry.

Well of course the BBC Wales viewing figures for St David's Day would be above the national average...we're Welsh and it was only screened in Wales..(?)

Time constraints....? Because March 1st happens so irregularly, it just crops up on you, like Xmas...or something.

And of course, the Senedd building had a lot to do with the programme they actually screened featuring Derek the BBC Wales weatherman learning Welsh.

I would also suggest the BBC learn to use some paragraphs.
