| Finally got to see the game and as much as it pains me to say it you guys looked very good indeed. I honestly cannot see you lot getting unstuck until around the semis. Arsegrapes, you lot really have a good shot of winning the World Cup. |

Registered 18 years agoI think its quite important tbh. This is to test the "second XI" more than the first, and its the first time Gerrard has had the chance to show what he can do in his favoured position without Lampard.
Plus it's a real chance for Carrick to show he's not just going to be a squad player. -

Registered 18 years agoI'm going to sound callous here, but if they give Peter Osgood (who only four caps) a minutes silence, then it makes a mockery of the whole practice.
Will Jason Wilcox or David Bardsley get a minutes silence in the future? -

Registered 18 years agoThomas had loads of caps though! .gif)
But yeah, even I forgot what he's going through. Loads of respect for the man (who I actually thought was one of our better midfielders of the Taylor days). -

Registered 18 years agoI agree ecureuil. Unless you've done something pretty exceptional for your club or country (which in Greenwoods case is merited) then its fair enough, but the whole country having a minutes silence for a player who was a legend at one or two clubs? Dont make me laugh.
Harry Kewell would have buried that.

Registered 18 years agoDoes anyone else think Beckham is benefiting from having Carrick there? The last few England games he's got the ball on halfway then looked to ping it over the top. Seeing him in the final third is much more like he used to play for Man U.
morriss, he's impressed me without being spectacular (nice through ball though), but as above I'm sure Gerrard and Becks are enjoying having him.
Cracking goal Grommet.

Registered 18 years agoThem...ball got cleared from a deadball, bloke hit it first time (proper volley) right into the top left corner.
As good a strike as I've seen for a while. -

Registered 18 years agoI've seen enough, Carrick and Gerro for me from now on.
Seeing Gerrard FINALLY being able to try his high tempo barnstorming game and have Carrick mop up behind him has convinced me of that. -

Registered 18 years agoIts not so much his tackling in this, its his positioning + passing. Its not brilliant 40 yard balls, but its the right pass every time, first time or with a couple of touches. Very very Hamann like.
Bah, wheres Crouch when you need him
/thinks Defoe and Crouch will cause them more problems up front second half.

Registered 18 years agoIs John Terry the best Center Back/Goalkeeper/Striker combo in the league?
How did that stay out... -
Are they bigging him up bunglebounce? I'm not sure if my perception is because I'm paying special attention to is him as I've not seen much of him...(in the league I mean)
