nice one, wonder how they initially came up with the quote for a month though

my most helpful service was when i returned my broken gamepad (i.e., i broke it), it was a couple weeks or so out of warranty, the guy realised it wasn't covered any longer, but was handy enough to let me get a replacement for free

usually corporations are so rigid, i was really surprised

    That is good.

I bought a secondhand CD from a Amazon Marketplace seller - cddeals. It was described as in very good condition.

I ordered it lunchtime and it turned up the next day, but when I opened it the CD was looking a bit knackered but for £4 I was not really that bothered. It copied fine.

I checked my email later that day and saw this: -

"Sorry, but on packing your CD it was noted that it was not in the conditon stated , I have issued a full refund straight away . I have also dispatched the CD 1st Class today Free of Charge , Thanks for your order , Sorry for any inconvenience"

    So a free CD.

    Very pleasantly surprised today.

About ten days ago I sent my Nikon D70 in for a service, to get the sensor cleaned. I'd accidentally gobbed all over it (don't ask). They also needed to replace the battery which was subject to a recall.

This morning I went in to ask when I could expect a quote. They told me at least a month! WTF! Cross.

Later, I come back to my office and find some voice mail. My camera had arrived back from the Nikon Service Centre just after I'd left!

Went to pick it up this evening - nice clean camera, pristine sensor, brand new battery - no charge! Apparently they waived the fee as it was under warranty!

This is an 18-month-old camera that has taken over 20,000 shots already. I'm pretty sure that a sensor clean is not offered under warranty. But I'm not complaining! The shop had told me it would cost around 200 dollars!

Well it was my local independent that said it'd take a month, they sent it to the Nikon Service Centre (which is 500 miles away) and they handle a lot of these so I took it they knew what they were talking about.
