"At the PlayStation Business Briefing 2006, Ken Kutaragi has just added another infamous quote to his belt, this time stating that PS3 games are "live" and that the PS3 concept is "4D".

He claims that games have gone from 8-bit to 16-bit planes, to the "space" that you saw on the PS1/PS2, and now PS3 will be "live"."

Perhaps it's like those "4D" movies, and it'll squirt a tiny jet of water at you while you're playing those rainy outdoor levels?

Does it come with those special 3d glasses that you had for Jaws 3d?

Edit: maybe that's why it's delayed!

Not that much worse than Microsoft's "XBox 360 lifestyle" marketing bullshit though, just a different type of bullshit.

Microsoft were trying (and failing) to be zen-like hip with the kids.

Ken's far more commendable approach is to weird you out. \o/

You're not thinking 4D. 4D = time. You'll be able to go back in time to get your original Jaws 3D glasses.

Maybe he means the devs will be able to go back in time and fix buggy code - Z0MGT3HP4TCH3S!

'from IGN's top 10 silly quotes' - on their site now .. worth a look

Years after Square jumped off the Nintendo ship to support PlayStation with a series of smash-hit Final Fantasy role-playing games, Nintendo's retired president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, made some hilarious comments about the booming genre - and about the people drawn to it.

"[People who play RPGs are] depressed gamers who like to sit alone in their dark rooms and play slow games," he noted in a 1999 interview. Yamauchi - who incidentally has prided himself on the fact that he has never played a videogame - went on to call RPGs as a whole both "silly and boring." Square Enix's Final Fantasy and DragonQuest RPGs continue to rank amongst the highest-selling games whenever they are released in Japan or America.

    Which reminds me of:

Fashion bosses are battling to avoid a public relations disaster after the marketing chief of the Topman chain said its customers were "hooligans".

In an interview with a trade magazine, David Shepherd said Topman customers only wore a suit for their first interview or their first court appearance.

"Very few of our customers have to wear suits to work. They'll be for his first interview or first court case." (David Shepherd, Topman brand director)

The best advert for the xbox was banned, I only saw it the other day as part of ScreenSelects digital download service. Anyone who is signed up to that should check it out, it's very 'Spaced' in its sense of humour.

And the people that banned it are killjoys.

I thought it was a myth that this ad was banned? (Rather that MS chose to release it only on the web...)

It's banned according to ScreenSelect, which is the only place I've ever seen it.

    Still, it's a top advert :)

I wonder how much you have to goose, tweak and fabricate something before it turns into 4D.
