    Except that I would know that I could've been playing the Japanese version earlier if I hadn't had to wait for the localization to be finished.

    you cant make games entirely regionfree. In some countries things are banned which need to be taken out prior to release. Ninja Gaiden behadingfeature and Germany comes to mind.

    Remember this is business and cash is king, nobody's going to sit on a finished game waiting for it to be localised for the whole of Europe whilst it could be earning revenues in the mean time.
