Oooh, at my school they have a set of those.
Don't really use 'em often due to they emit sort of a harsh blue-white glow more than the soft warm white you generally want. We had to modify 'em to accept filters though, and that made 'em look terrible. But they're damn bright!

Nice link Otto, just what I am after. After getting a few quotes from professionals for some snaps of the nipper, this looks better! Not too confident about B and Q having some of this stuff though, might have to shop around.

We were at a baby show lasy week, and entered about 5 photographers prize draws for a free session....guess what...we won every single one! Cretins. The deal is you go in, have some photos done, then they give you your free print, passport size basically, then skin you for some bigger ones.

Does the forum have insurance if I burn my house down?

Anyone got any good links for using this sort of setup? I had a quick google but.....

That's awesome. Studio lighting's hilariously expensive. I used a studio on the course I've just finished though, and it really was ace. I'm definitely tempted to give this a try, though.

You could try going the DIY route. :)

I'm very tempted to give this a go.
