New video interview. Reiterates that it's coming to Xbox 360 and PS3, as well. "Done when it's done". Looks fantastic, and I think this'll do me for console shooters of this type. Seems like a great inclusive one to really get your teeth into, to me. :)

File Planet are giving away 30,000 beta keys for non subscribers (you will still need an account). Game list this for release in august.

You also need to sign up for additional crap, which means no beta for me.

half of the keys for fileplanet subscribers, the other 30k for us common plebs!

so keeping the account might be good for something after all.

New subscribers get preferential treatment, Is it worth 15 quid to play a beta? Mind you its ET were talking about, probably the best multi player PC game I've played (and the originals free too). Sod it, ill load the original back on my PC.

    Speak for yourself :)

Think i pay like a fiver a quarter on some summer deal for standard fileplant subscribership. Not bad really, considering all the extra you get with them.

Anyone got a direct link for lazy bastards wanting to sign up for the beta but find themselves unable to stray from this forum for too long? ;)

On one hand, did they not realise all the trouble BF2142 had with adverts and on the other, alot of us just bit the bullet and carried on, but BF2142 is actually less popular than BF2 online, so maybe it did have an effect.

I think they're going to be a lot more careful about placement and suitability, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

We'll soon see in the beta anyway.

Still sucks anyway, i mean i bought doom3, isnt that enough!? HOW CAN THEY TAKE MORE FROM ME?

I think at the end of the day, its an odd situation, the support for the game is something the developer should just do anyway, i mean in the past all these things were done, but citing it as the way to fund updates and what not, when id respect them more if they just came out and said it was a chance to earn extra money, as we all know is the bottom line. I mean if its not, then they don't quite understand the point on selling things.

If they're adding advertising to fund ongoing support then they better either release a game with 0 bugs or patches with plenty of additional content.

I spose, at the end of the day, a bunch of people are gonna steal the game anyway, so at least Spash Damage will make money either way.

Yep, it occurred to me that it might be the only way the pc gets decent games anymore.

Tbh im not too fussed about ads in game as long as they arent glaringly obvious or out of place.

R6:V has adverts and I havent seen(I mightve missed it) a big uproar about adverts, fair enough they arent dynamic or updateable but they are still there.

Didn't Splinter Cell have a really bad one where you had an unskipable scene where he eats some mints and flashes the brand at the screen?

Oh joy, "Tired of being the "little" guy in the lockerroom?" and Viagra smothered over containers in the game.

Least its not as bad as the smoking aces adverts in Counter-Strike.

And mentioning that, should clan servers get a cut on this, after all its their bandwidth that is hosting the adverts.

reading on the fileplanet front page, it seems subscribers get their keys first, before its opened for us leechers. not surprising really.

At the moment paying subscribers are getting first come first serve keys on fileplanet, and fileplanet are the only ones doing it aside from compo's like EG's id assume.

To be fair, it was worth my £4-5 for 3 months, quake wars at 1mb/sec is something to be sniffed at.
