For a healthy lifestyle, and to help ward off the big C. A glass of OJ in the morning, a couple of apples, a banana, a small red box of raisins. They all count y'know.

Do you get enough? Or are you the fat, lazy, overweight, greasy, spotty gamer eating yourselves into an early grave?

I probably have more than 5 portions a day.

Doesn't it have to be something like 5 different portions though? So you couldn't just eat 5 oranges and be done with it, for example.

Healthier than Jamie Olivers kids me.

Cocal Cola= coca leaves not cocoa beans. That is, the plant they make cocaine out of, not the plant they make chocolate out of.

Also Cola nuts, and mild stimulant from Africa.

    What gets me...

How many grapes to a 'portion'? What about a large banana compared to a small one? Size has to be an issue.

On average I consume approximately 0.3 portions a day.

If eating healthily is to be a viable option then some clever fucker should invent healthy food that doesn't taste like shit.

1 portion of grapes would be a good handful. Anything loose is usually worked out into 1 handful per portion.

With bananas, the ripeness is more important than the size. Slightly underripe bananas are better for you than overripe ones.

    Well, I would, but...

/looks at transparent walls and ceiling

Nah - I'm getting there, on a diet of low-fat meat (chicken, turkey and 3-6% beef) and veggies. The total lack of carbs is strange at first, but it works (sorta)! \o/

Bah! No-carbs is bullshit. At least if you work out on a regular basis. Then you need your carbohydrates.

Heh, great thing about the '5 a day' thing is that it's apparently a bare minimum - health authorities in the US are now recommending that people eat 7-9 portions a day (here).

I started trying to do this a few years ago and although at first it was a complete pain, it eventually became second nature - pure orange with breakfast, banana midmorning, salad with lunch, apple after, random fruit smoothie in the afternoon, two to three veg with dinner, some random fruit for dessert. Mind you I've never had much of a sweet tooth so that does help somewhat.

Excellently, work has just started providing free fruit for everyone too - I'll save a fortune!

3 oranges, quarter of a pineapple and a handful of grapes. Fookin' lush.

Annoyingly my kitchen isn't big enough to have my juicer out on the side so it tends to get forgotten about along with my George Foreman.

    Sure do.

Dried fruit on my brekkie...fresh fruit for snacks and lunch, apple and fruit-stacked yoghurt for tea...

And a nice round peach before bedtime :)

I'd say I get two or three portions of veg, but normally very little fruit.

    Oh well, I'm still alive.
