The title says it all... 16 Blocks, the new Richard Donner/Bruce Willis 'Die Hard-me-do', or MI:III which is sure to be too loud, too long and just waaaaaaaay too stupid (much like the last one) but then again, might redeem itself somehow? |
Bored so going to the flicks: 16 Blocks or MI:III?

Registered 17 years agoI'd be tempted to see MI:III out of pure curiosity. Watched number two on telly the other night. Wasn't at all impressed. -

Yeah, I do too. There's something about the trailer that says to me Style Over EVERYTHING and that really didn't work for it in the last film.

Colours are too punchy, cuts are too fast, Tom Cruise is a really annoying smug git in the MI films (even more than usual) and after everything I've read and seen of him since he started covering up his gayness with Katie Holmes I really don't like watching him much... But the film could still be alright... Anyone caught it yet? -
Inside Man's good, although it has a slightly disappointing ending.
Yeah, different film from the two you mentioned but I haven't seen them. -
Inside Man is also an option, but there's no way I'm going to spend my money on a film that has a disappointing ending, and several people have said that about it.
MI:III is looking most likely at the moment, actually! -

Yeah, but after all that speculation and hinting at it being something more than what it appears... -
Sod it, I'm off to see MI:III...
I'll just pretend that Tom Cruise hasn't allegedly imposed a strict diet on Katie Holmes to get her down to Hollywood Sex Symbol size again now she's dropped his "Look! I'm Not Gay" sprog.
Allegedly.

Registered 17 years agoMI:III is actually superb! I saw it last night and I was very impressed; clever, well acted, well directed and it goes back to the original Mission Impossible source material, instead of a hollywood no-brainer with the title tacked on. The best movie I've seen at the cinema in a while. -

edit: I was seriously suprised at how good it is, I thought it would be a bit of crap tacked on to make up a trilogy, but no.
It's less Hollywood, very realistic (weapons and tactics) and very good. Go see it.

Very good. And a few Lost/Alias references for the JJ Abrams fans. -

What was disappointing about the end of Inside Man? I thought it was pretty good.
