I'm really not sure about that.
I can't remember anything really memorable about it (heh, tautology, much?), except the initial "OMFG you can go all the way round!" moment. -

Registered 18 years agoI just got a sudden craving to play the toy level with the spring and the retro remix theme tune!

Registered 13 years agoStarted my 2nd playthrough of this. Still as magical as ever.
One thing which I've noticed from this playthrough is that the music is UNBELIEVABLE!!
Only about 20 stars in. Loving it. -

Registered 13 years agoYep, its official. This game is a piece of genius and the music just gets better and better. Here's my favourite so far:

Registered 15 years agoIt's probably easier on the whole, but there's no doubt in my mind that Galaxy is far superior. And I loved Sunshine too, by the way. -

Registered 16 years agoGalaxy is easier than Sunshine, no doubt. Sunshine was bloody hard on some levels, like the flying sand bird one. -

Registered 16 years agoSuper easy is really exaggerated though. To be honest I thought it was a lot more challenging than other recent Nintendo games. Never unfair or tedious though but I reckon it is far from being one of those games were you simply get through every level on your first try. -
'This music fits perfectly as a farewell theme to Super Mario Sunshine. It creates the perfect mood when going after the final shine sprite on Pianta Village. It feels like a farewell festival, especially when Mario grabs on to the flying flowers as he speeds off to the blue sky.
This was a fine sendoff for Sunshine before Mario's triumphant return 5 years down the road, with Super Mario Galaxy and its orchestral tunes.'
Gotta love Youtube banality. -

Registered 13 years agoSunshine was harder more beacuse of the infuriating FLUDD controls imo, but Galaxy is pitched perfectly. The Prankster comets make up for the lack of difficulty in the game proper. But you do die plenty of times if you're going for all of the stars, like I did. -

Registered 18 years agoI don't know, to me it was super-easy. I prefer the Sunshine retro-level style challenge. .gif)
It's true, though, that all of Nintendo's in-house games in the past five or so years have been like that. I would love for future Zeldas, and possibly Marios, to be like the Metroid Prime games - i.e. genuinely challenging. I'm probably alone in thinking that though.

Galaxy, from what little I've played, is exquisite.
I loved Sunshine on my GC, except for the Hotel level and the blue coins. I did get all 120 in it, however. That bird mini level was awesome. -

Perhaps you're just getting better at games

Galaxy was for me too pitched absolutely perfectly, and I loved grabbing all 120 stars. Loved every minute of it, and still play it a lot now. Though I enjoyed Sunshine, it was too much of a slog to complete 100%. Some of those red coins were absolutely mind bending.
+1 on the hotel level being shit, and for the sand bird being awesome though.
