Duncan Jones had been tweeting about on-going filming work for a good while now (wrapped week 10 at the end of March). Very encouraging things, I might add. I think he might just be the man to make this work. He seems to have found a good story to focus on.

I've loved all his movies so far. Yes, I know there are only 2, but I really loved them both so it's still true! Not got round to that short film yet, but I will.

You're right there, the cast certainly isn't too shabby either. I'm fairly positive that, at the very least, it'll be a good film. Whether it'll feel like Warcraft I'm not so sure, but given the scope is more in line with the first couple of games it should work.

So, probably Travis Fimmel with his glorious beard as a young Anduin Lothar then? No idea which of the cast are orcs as it could be any of them really. Heck, even Lothar could be any of them.
