It'll all kick off again once the general public have heard it, they still seem blissfully unaware. -

Or will they laugh and accompanying it with "Those gamers...strange people" and go about their daily lives as normal...continuing not to play games. -

But you have to admit, everyone is used it now.
I still smirk at it - probably always will. Stupid fucking name, but yes, it was inevitable that we'd have to get used to using it.
Although I'll throw in a few urine jokes for old times sake if you like =) -

Registered 16 years agoI just hope they're built sturdy enough. I can see it going unexpectantly airborne after a couple of beverages and the resulting over-exuberance+complete lack of coordination. -
I foresee a price-tag of €300 with a game thrown in (hopefully a "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" package will be available for the faithful). At that price, I will be happy enough. -

To be honest, for €300 I'd gladly take a package deal and a sharp hurley smack to the testicles from the finest GAA has to offer. And I'd do it all with a smile. )

Registered 17 years agoWhich of the controller configurations will it come with though? Obviously a Wiimote but will the nunchuck be included as standard? What about the shell controller, do you think that will be in the box?
I'd be happy paying £200 for console, wiimote, nunchuck and WiiSports. -

Jayzus Crispy, thought you were an old-timer. Don't you know that only the PS3 has the raw fractal-toting power to handle real-time weapon changes? You is teh n00bz...

Oh no Gary, apparently the games will be cheaper than the competitors, so shall we call a game £35-£40? £180 with a game for the real-time weapon changing win!!

P.S. Games will be not one cent over 60EURO or there'll be absolute war!!! -

Registered 17 years agoSeeing that the DS Lite is priced 150 euro, I seriously doubt the Wii standalone will launch around 200 €, although, I serioulsy hope that it does.

Registered 17 years ago£140 is too sensible. They could probably afford it, and everyone would buy a Wii at that price, but no - they'll do it for at least £160 and then worry about sales once the fanboy hordes have bought their fill.
Games; £30 is 'sensible' and affordable too, so they'll go for £40. £30 is too close to the DS game price tag too. One thing - if Wii games are so much cheaper to develop, can we expect Wii versions of multi-platform games to be cheaper? Hmm? No.
/so hope I'm wrong, and that Nintendo get 'sensible'. -

Registered 17 years agoThe N64 was definitely £249.99 at launch with no games. I was no. 4 on the pre-order list at my local Electronics boutique and remember the day well. I couldn't decide between Mario64 and SW:SOTE but thankfully went for Mario!
A few months later they dropped the price so I wrote to Nintendo about how many months I had to struggle through a shitty paid paper round to save up. They sent me a free controller. -

Registered 17 years agoMaybe I'm thinking of the price with a game then. I know I had Mario 64 before the actual console.
Actually, Mario 64 was a birthday present. I bought the console myself. I'm still quite sure I paid more than £250 for it. -
Dunno if this is old or not, but can it be that Wii is launching in October??? Linkage. -

LOL. Nice one T.G. I think thw Wii will be £130 with one controller and console, and £180 with 2 controllers and console (and possibly that sports game)
I can't wait. Definitely pre-ordering as soon as we get the nod from retailers.
Who the hell can we pre-order from to definitely get one? After the X360 fiasco I feel I should pre-order from 2 or 3 places atleast to guarantee getting one. Any thoughts/threads abut this. -
