If that's true, that puts it right on top of the must buy list for me. $250 translates pretty well into pounds doesn't it? About £160 no?
Yep, that's a Wii for me. -

Well, considering they're basically just re-selling us a Gamecube, letting us have it for the same price is the least they can do.
Its a Gamecube fuelled by nitro glycerin. -

US DS Lite = $129.99
and UK DS Lite = £99.99
if US Wii = $250
then
UK Wii = £190
that wont be cheap enough surely -

Registered 17 years agoI thought about starting a new thread for this, but I don't feel in a big ranting mood.
I was just trying to get the lowdown on the price of the Wii, but failed miserably, due to the shocking grammar on the article here on the BBC site.
Now, people write this for a living; the ultimate product of their reporting job, and then you get grammar like this
"Nintendo's has said its new Wii console will not cost much than $250 (£133) when it goes on sale later this year."
I mean come on, ffs. I put more effort into the grammar of my forum replies, never mind one of the biggest international news sites on Earth.
Can I please have this person's job. I promise I will make a better job of it than they do, for damn sure. Half the time you can tell the people writing the technology articles have no interest or natural knowledge of technology. I'm always seeing mistakes like this in magazines and the Beeb News in particular.

It could be the same deal across all of BBC's news, and I'd be none the wiser! o_0

Registered 18 years agoSlightly off topic for a moment. My local GAME store are selling pre-owned Gamecubes for £30! Bargain if you ask me - well worth picking one up at that price, even if they have stopped developing for it.

Yes you're right. It looks as if Nintendo changed the price at the last minute. Not that it did them much good. :/

The magic 8-ball says "£170".
It's a slightly-more-complicated-than-usual magic 8-ball. -

Registered 18 years ago£130 would be an excellent price, but probably unlikely. I think somewhere between £150-£180 would be a fair bet.

Registered 17 years agoOn the euro GC launch:
The machine was originally expected to sell for about £150 when released to shops on 3 May but the company has set a new price of 199 euros (£129).
I honestly wouldn't mind paying either price for the Wii, but maybe not much more.
edit:that was the cube launch price

That would be nice, but I'm guessing it will be sub £150 because everyone's expecting a price drop from MS at around the same time. I think.
Edit: What megastar said.

Registered 16 years agoNooo!!! But I want to get a 360 first. And if I do, I won't have any money left (not that I have any money now, but that's what a bank overdraft is for).
Gaaahh.... -
So, can you still get a 360 and a Wii for the price of a PS3?
