| This has happened to me quite a lot recently. I now own God of War and ICO and havent even started playing them. I am just not motivated. I bought them because everyone says their good. |
Ever bought something for the sake of owning it?

Registered 18 years agoSeveral things. First thing that comes to mind is the Biohazard attache case, but I had the good sense to sell that (at a profit eventually, too). -

Registered 16 years agoerm well I don't know...does official guides count? I am planning on getting the Final Fantasy guides...but I know I won't read the whole flippin' thing! Also I could just get online help if I need something...but the fact of having an official guide is kinda a collection thing no?
That and controllers...you never know... -

Well no. I used to buy games that I found out didn't interest me, even though they were supposed to be the greatest thing ever.
Gave up video games for about two years, and now I have gone back to playing them constantlly. I think the improved visuals have sucked me in. I'm kind of concerned that I will never do anything with my life, but oh well...
Bit off topic but who the hell cares. And if you do, that's some attiutude you have.
Yeah I think I am getting near giving up games. Nothing really seems to hold my intrest anymore. I recently started playing GTA:SA, SotC, ToS, Alien Hominid and Metroid Prime but got bored of them all rather quickly. I might have a break from them and try playing them all sometime later. Although I am addicted to my DS. Polarium rules!!!!!!

I was thinking more along the lines of games but okay...
Have you ever used your chainsaw? Because the thought of buying one for no reason makes me suspiscious. -
Yes, I have a couple of DVDs that I haven't watched yet. Some I haven't gotten around to watching, in fairness, but with a few of them, I just sleep better (when I sleep) knowing that they are there, so that if I ever get the overwhelming urge to watch 'em, there they are... Silly? Yes. Idiotic? Yes. /Pauses -

No I haven't used it yet; I bought the chainsaw to cut down some hedge rows in my back garden. I had the 2 stroke unleaded petrol but it wasn't until I got home I found out that I needed chain guard oil. I purchased both the chainsaw and the jet wash at the same store; I told the assistant "I'm going to kill my wife and cut her up into small pieces and put her into the freezer, the jet wash is for cleaning up the mess." The assistant replied "When you're finished can I borrow them as I want to do the same to my husband."

Various old consoles, computers and games for them. I haven't really sued them much as they're either a bit of a pain to set up in the space I have or I don't want to damage them.
I'll gladly play the games on an emulator so long as I regard it as close enough an experience to the real thing, although I do have a soft spot for having my original C64 & disk drive set up, even though the disk drive for that is almost as big as an Xbox on its own!

I'm going to buy a DS lite despite the fact I have no intention of getting rid of my normal DS. -

Why did I sell it?
Got tons of stuff still in it's shrinkwrap. I think it's because, unlike, say, CD's, where it's still relitively easy to pick up a new copy of an album from 5 years ago, when a game is released - if you don't buy it there and then, within a couple of months your only options are second hand, or not at all.
And I like stuff to be pristine wherever possible, which is why if I even think that I might want something, I usually buy it on day of release, just to be sure.
Which is why I've got tons of games I've never got round to opening.
I can buy 'em faster then I can play 'em! -
Pretty much everything gaming related, I already have at least 40 great games i've not got around to playing properly, yet still by more new ones

I've actually got three C64 disk drives:
Oceanic 118 (a 98% compatible clone sold by Evesham Micros. Small enough to fit inside a 5 1/4 bay in a PC case), a hyoooooooooge 1541 and a sleaker-but-still-not-as-small-as-the-Oceanic 1541 Mk-II
Project Firestart would never run on my Oceanic
