I spent the first part of my holiday in Phuket and it's lovely place apart from aggressive sellers trying to flog your suits and car hire. Going on a boat tour is a must as the beaches are much nicer. Below are just a few Phi Phi island Maya beach Patong beach street restaurant where we stopped on the tour of the islands the beach next to the restaurant monkeys on monkey island Edited by Darth_Flibble at 20:04:53 18-06-2006 |

Registered 19 years agoLooks nice, though I have to confess that I hated Phuket.
I loved Phiphi though, overdeveloped as it was (pre-tsunami). There were some very basic beach huts on the Eastern side of the island that you had to trek for half an hour to reach (or take a boat); almost no electricity and very quiet; heaven! -

Registered 17 years agoOn Phi Phi, there was a lot of building work along the beach which I think was damaging the natural beauty. I hoping to go to Thailand again, maybe Krabi or Ko samui -

If you do go to Samui, make sure you take trips out to Koh phangan (sp?) and Koh Tao, they're all quite different in terms of atmosphere and levels of development.

Koh Samet (near Bangkok) is also worth a visit. -

The fact that you're being a jerk springs to mind quicker. -

Registered 20 years agoLOL! Looks amazing, I've been toying witht he idea of going to Phuket in July, seen some great deals for 700-odd for 9 nights. Much cheaper than I oringally thought. But I want to spend a few days in Bangkok too, maybe even visit DodgyPast. If he'll have us.

Registered 18 years agoKoh Tao is definately worth a visit. Especially good if you arrive at the start of the diving season when it is a bit quiter. A good place to visit if you just want to chill and improve your frisbee, great seafood too. -

Yeah when you leap into a thread saying you don't care about it that sorta thing tends to happen. -

Koh Tao has to be my favourite place in Thailand. Possibly helped now by the fact I lived here and have friends there.
As to suggesting a visit to Soi Cowboy or Nana then I think Razz's use of 'us' might preclude that.
Just for a show you might be able to drag the missus to Patpong... which is next to my work
