That is very cool. Weird choice for the fourth picture down though.

It doesn't quiet match up does it, it's like a drop shadow effect.

That too, but I was more thinking that the source image isn't in keeping with all the other images.

There's a naked woman at a table further down.

    My first attempt

It really -really- needs a tablet though. Don't have one at the moment and my mouse control is shite. I'll find a different photo and take a bit longer and see what happens.

    My first attempt

    Only a week late.
  • Deleted user 8 July 2006 21:02:51
Forgot about this thread. I picked up a tablet during the week. Only did this one in the end.

    ..

    Yeah, that's me.

    ..

    Don't ask.

I might be taking it for granted being a designer and all, but isn't it just, er.... tracing?

Or should I go all tech and call it rotoscoping?

And to finish, I've got a great tutorial on how make a picture like your favourite artist. You will need:

    A camera
    A computer
    A printer

    et voila!!!

    /self-satisfied sarcasm off

Yeah, it's nothing particularly new or challenging, but it's still looks good. Or can look good. Or something.

I spose to be fair rotoscoping did give us a lot of the animation in Snow White and the Seven dwarves amongst others so I shouldn't be such a sourpuss.

It not particulary good tbh. It's comes across very amateur, and sometime... well.. a bit fake. Bluf fart, if you will.

I never claimed it was art. :p

Yeah, the guy's a bit of a cock for claiming it's special when it isn't, but oh well. It's something even us three thumbed talentless scribblers can do, so leave us be!

    BANKY
    (signing the comic)
I ink it and I'm also the colorist.
The guy next to me draws it. But we
both came up with the characters,
    COLLECTOR
What's that mean - you ink it'!
    BANKY
Well. It means that Holden draws the
pictures in pencil, and then he gives
it to me to go over in ink
    COLLECTOR
    So you just trace!

Banky freezes up. He composes himself and continues
    signing.
    BANKY
It's not tracing. I add depth and
shading to give the image mere
definition. Only then does the drawing
    really take shape.
    COLLECTOR
You go over what he draws with a pen -
    that's tracing.

Variety's the spice of life. I like a wide selection. Sometimes I'm in the mood for nasty close-ups, sometimes I like them arty and air-brushed. Sometimes it's a spread brown-eye kind of night, sometimes it's girl-on-girl time. Sometimes a steamy letter will do it, sometimes - not often, but sometimes - I like the idea of a chick with a horse.
