Looks a bit... boring, tbh. Hope the finished game is more interesting - been looking forward to it for a while.

Probably one of my favourite things about the next gen consoles: downloadable demos.
Sort it out, Nintendo! I'm not buying a single VC game until you do! -

Yeah - I reckon they'll get round to it. That and hopefully using the Wii to download and send demos to your DS

That would be very cool indeed but presumably they would only exist on your DS until you turned it off, like playing a game against another DS owner in 'download' mode?

It would be. The DS probably has enough oomph to run demos of actual Wii games, too.

Registered 17 years agoAnybody care to comment on the controls ?
I'm not one for games with 473 different key combos, especially in the heat of battle, so I'm curious how streamlined or not this is ?
You beta-kids will have a good handle on this by now - any thoughts ?

Registered 16 years agoworks like an fps with the sticks.
A is to jump, hold it down to jump higher
right trigger to fire, left trigger to lock on
left bumper for reload, right bumper for grenades
up down on dpad uses zoom (i think).
X to roundhouse kick
B to pickup objects
Y to change weapons
driving is right trigger to accelerate, left trigger to brake and reverse and one of the face buttons is handbrakes.
the controls feel fine, takes a bit of getting used to (i kept throwing grenades by accident when i first started). but once you have the hang of it you'll be leaping and kicking and throwing. -

Registered 15 years agoI'm really torn about Crackdown. On the one hand, I love GTA style games and on paper, all the things you can do make it sound great. But on the other hand, I thought the same about Just Cause and that completely failed to grab me at all.
Hopefully the demo will convice me. Not long to wait now and co-op does look fun... -

Heh. it's because I enjoyed Just Cause that I'm so looking forward to Crackdown. And I didn't particularly rate the JC demo when I played it. -

Ta for that effort - it fits the sort of default setup I'd hope for so I'm hoping to grab the demo tomorrow and make that final conviction to grab it. Somebody got me a £25 HMV voucher for Crimble so even though I'd not buy from there by choice normally it's probably going to go on this !
Also the idea of almost unlimited co-op gaming ideas ("Race you to the top of that office block" etc) will give it legs too.....

By the way, Heroes, 24, and PB won't be available till tomorrow. BSG was on last night so it's out today. -
ah sorted, though i don't watch prison break. maybe i'll catch up with it at some point.
Lost starts in two weeks, whoo!
