I use the Videodownloader extension for Firefox. Go to extensions and see the top ten downloaded. Just a click of a button allows you to download any video embedded in a webpage, and most of the time it will let you choose avi, mov, mp4 etc. The newer ones all seem to be .flv extension. But that's easily solved by downloading a piece of freeware called Super. It's a movie converter. -

I've downlaoded that extension now, but am having trouble getting Super. I found the site (here) but i must be missing something because after clicking on the link to 'Download SUPER', I can't actually see a link to get the software.
Do you happen to have the installer around still? If it's not too big, could you email it to me please?.gif)
