75%? woah, thats quite suprising (if true). Certainly when I was at Voda it was the other way around. There's just no deals in retentions :/
when flext was first released i was hitting saves rates of about 85-90%....prob the best deal i gave away was flext 35 for £9.25 a month....its easy when we got tools like that..its not so good now but it aint that bad....more often than not(£30+) we do better deals for existing custs than new direct connections.... -

Yea flext hit us pretty hard, it was a great deal. Retentions seem to be a bit of a one trick pony though, once youve offered the world for a tenner, where do you go from there?
One thing I found when working inthe mobile trade, I reckon if you sat down with every customer and looked at their calling habits, 90% of them you could save minimum of 25% on their bills.
Unfortunatly though, no company will ever do that, for obvious reasons.
totally agree with u...big push these days is on data services...our webnwalk is pretty good..i use it all the time...whats the sharp 902 ferrari like? i've always wanted to know sorry -

definetely wait....there's a vario 2 out now anyway which is not much better looks a bit better and ...although the compact 3 doesn't have a keyboard the new clickwheel and rollball function looks very impressive...if u want a keyboard go for the vario 2...are u getting a new contract or upgrade...
Thanks for the info, it will be a new contract as I'm moving from Voda, I'm going for the flext 25 which I realise doesn't give me much handset discount which is why I'm looking at the vario. Do you have any idea on cost for the compact 3?
My contract is up Nov 25th. I'm not really bothered about keeping my number, could I just start a new contract now? -

to be honest...doing a bit of research for you probably the best deal would be on O2 on e2save.co.uk...free xda mini(vario) on O2 500...500 xnet anytime mins and 100 txt 12 month contract...normall £40 pm but you get £200 cashback which equates to £23.33 pm...flext is 18 months and offers max of 300 mins with no txt or even flext 30 with currently has £5 off direct is a max of 450 mins but its still an 18 month contract....the only reason i would advise to come onto t-mobile is if you cannot trust the cashback scheme... -

Registered 17 years agothanks again for the info, I don't really trust myself with the cashback schemes as I would forget to redeem at certain months or however it works nowadays. Flext 25 would suit me down to the ground, cheap line rental with a mixture of minutes and texts. -
Apparently those chequeqback schemes are fraudulent. Summit on watchdog about it I heard. Like 9 times out of 10 it's impossible to claim the money back due to the date you get your bill etc. -

Having just had a look around CPWH I've decided on the SE K800i instead as the camera looks quality (and in earlier posts you all seemed happy with it).
Anyone had any issues with the joystick (my old 750i went belly up after a few months) and the camera lens cover seemed like it wouldn't take much to damage !?
Anyone had any probs before I go for the K800i over the W850i.
Thanks... -

I've got a w850i, and have had a K800 (I work at Voda). Functionally, they are practically identical, the key differences are the camera (better on the K800), and the headset (W850 is a walkman, so the headphones are very good). The camera on the w850 isn't as good as the K750 - no autofocus, no zoom except in VGA mode - but the call buttons are more practical than on the K800 and I prefer the size.
Both are very good phones though. -

Registered 15 years agoCheers Brokenkey.
Are the headphones from the Walkman phones compatible on the K800 ? Only I've got a spare set from the wifes W300i which she never uses.. -

Registered 20 years agoer, don't know. If the w300 has a wide connector (about an centimeter) then yes, they'll be compatible. If its the old 1/2 centimeter then now. -

Registered 20 years agooh, one neat feature the w850 has that k800 doesn't - music recognition. Basically the Shazam service but runs of the data channel and is not premium charged.
oh, and it uses memory stick Duo. The K800 uses memory stick Micro. If you bought a decent size memory stick for your K750 you'll be able to use it with the w850, although it ships with a 1 gig card anyway.

Registered 15 years agoYup, the W300 has the wide connector. Just had a look at the CPWH website and after looking at the K800 pics I reckon the Walkman headphones should fit the K800.
Thanks again.
Edit -
thanks for the additional info on the memory cards. The main reason I'm tempted by the W850 is the fact it ships with the 1Gb card. Otherwise I'll need to spend another £40 for a 1Gb micro to use in the K800..

Registered 17 years agoAre the N91's still being sold?
Got mine from O2 in July, but haven't seen much of them at all - mind you the original firmware was awful
Still, great phone after they fixed it - even tho its on the large side -
