Have PLAY lost their fucking minds? They are charging a start-up price of €79.99 for Wii games. I know it's a place-holder price for now, but come on, that's even more expensive than 360 games. ![]() Edited by Guy-Gin at 23:13:41 24-07-2006 |
O_o €80 for Wii games?

Which is 80 Euros, no? Hence the thread...

Meh, they're just basing the pricing around what 360 games are currently, don't worry. -

They're £10 more expensive. That's why he created the thread.

Eww... Hash?
£50 though... it'll drop to to £45/40 at launch. I seriously can't see Wii games being the same price as 360 games. -

Registered 20 years agoPS3 games are listed at £50 too, as were 360 games before launch. Figure it's Play just making an assumption based on them both being next-gen systems. -

Search for any 360 game at Play.com and feast your eyes at the price. -

But these all say 'RRP £50'.

Agreed. If the games were all going for that price, I'd get into bed with Microsoft awful quick. I love Nintendo's games, but I draw the line at being fiscally bum-fucked every time I buy a game. Not to worry though, I'm pretty sure that this will drop by €20 smartly enough. /Stern face -

/is poor ;_; -
I don't understand... that's the same price as the 360 games...
Plus, it's pre-release so it can be taken purely as conservative speculation on PLAY's behalf. -

Mind you, it's better than an expensive console with expensive games. Not sure if we can predict PS2-esque pricing for the PS3 games. -

Yes. But Play are selling them cheaper, thus they're not as expensive as Wii games. I think T.G.'s point is that he expected Play to already have an accurate idea of what their actual price point for Wii games and is shocked they aren't listed at a knock down price like the 360 ones haave been since launch. Phew!

Registered 16 years agoIf they're going for a cheap console I doubt they wouldn't follow through with the games too. Just my opinion of course but I'd say it's just a poorly hazard guess by Play.
£40 RRP and £30 online hopefully

I'll just wait for the 24 hour Nintendo Wii spectacular at GAME.
