I think he means without depth, asin a simple game-mechanic with not a lot of variation: a one-trick pony.
I could be wrong, but that's how I understood it.

That would make more sense. -

Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and NSMB are all worth the money.
Well I don't think 30 quid for a game that is so simplistic in comparrison to one on a full sized console or PC is great value for money.
Especially with online modes in some games. -
I concur. -

Well imo Civ IV or WoW are worht over 100 quid but that don't mean every PC game is worht the same... -
I know, I know, I see what you mean.
But it is hard to compare PC pricing to other markets, particularly the handheld market. -

Of course value is a very subjective thing. I find NSMB to be worth a bazquillion Preys for instance. -
I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing!
Could mean that:
a) Games are prices differently based on content (like Brain Training compared to NSMB)
which I agree with
b) Some games may be cheaper but all will stay the same price for ever and ever and ever...
and the trouble with this is that it presumes that the quality of a game is constant, whereas often games become surpassed later on in a 'generation'. So it does seem silly to be asking the same for an old game. -

How are little kiddies meant to afford that much?
I remember when ET came out on the Atari VCS - that was £50. Back in 1982! Kids today don't know they are born. -

Registered 20 years agoIwata has said on a bunch of different occasions that Wii games will not be any more expensive than last-generation games, and that they're trying to push software prices down rather than up. Play is just slapping down the standard arse-covering next-gen software price, they have no more idea of what these games will cost than anyone else does. End of story. -

Wii games WILL NOT be 50 pounds, we know that - Nintendo have said so, so why are people bursting blood vessels over an unofficial Play.com placeholder?
Your absolutely right! Nintendo have already said the price will be lower than the current games on the market.
I really cannot belive so many of you think that Play.com is the final word with prices. -

From the Zelda text:
"Eschewing the cel-shaded cuteness of Windtalker, Twilight Princess marks a return to dark guise of the Nintendo 64's Ocarina of Time."
Let us argue this no further. -

Registered 15 years agoI don't believe you people sometimes T_T Places like game HAVE to put in a large placeholder price to take preorders when they start, you cant take an order for a low price and then when the game comes out say "Oh by the way that's another £20 please" the customer will just go mad and argue s/he wasn't told, this way when you preorder you pay the high money and when they get the REAL price and you get the game you get a kind of rebate on the excess you gave them.
Some stores are doing preorders on the console, do they know how much it's going to cost? Do they buggery, they're over £200 when noone ever knows the official price. Why are they doing this? So that when they find the real price they refund the difference.
Lets look at it logically, the Wii is based loosely around the architecture of the GC agreed? Thus making it easier to code for than developers have to do with the PS3 or 360. This means that the games CAN NOT BE MORE THAN A 360 GAME. Nintendo have officially stated the price will probably not exceed $50 for a game so what's this BS and people taking it seriously.
Game are covering their asses, 'nuff said.
P.S Feel free to take this and pick quotes completely out of context and then rip into them without considering the following import, I expect it, honestly. -
I started this thread originally while the shock was still fresh. I feel quite embarrassed now. It's obvious to me in retrospect that the games won't be more than €60. I think it was to me when I started the thread too, but I saw fit to feed on my own emotions. :'( -
