My cousin has 2 of these but with more distinct orange markings.
Stunningly beautiful creatures but a complete pain in the arse as pets, apparently -

Registered 20 years agoI've got a mongrel. No idea what her mix is. She's tortoise shell, has some of the traits listed of that Savannah but also has a slight Siamese look in her face. -

That's how I came across those Savannahs. Just saw that video of that Serval and followed the links. -

Registered 15 years agoThat's some kind of purebred cat. Awesome looking. -

Registered 20 years agoIt's a wild animal, but some are kept as pets apparently. They're very loyal and the Savannah's can even be taught to walk on a lease and fetch. Not that I would ever humiliate my cat by lowering it to the level of a dog. -

Can't believe that dog lets that fleabag feline taunt it like that. Grow some balls dog and rip it's flooping smug face right off.

Those Savannah cats do indeed look awesome. I've had a Balinese for the last fifteen years and I don't think I could ever have a different pedigree cat though. That Wikipedia article isn't kidding when it says they're the most intelligent longhairs around, although mine's intelligence seems directed entirely towards hedonistic pleasure, i.e. obtaining food and catnip and getting scratched and/or made dizzy (he'll stretch out on a polished floor and shout at me until I put my hand behind his front legs and spin him on the floor til he's dizzy). -

Registered 17 years agoHah, my cats got the hump with me now as I've just taken a mouse off of him that he brought in and took it back to the garden. -

Registered 14 years agoI'm not suprised he's got the hump, after going through all that trouble to get you a nice present and you just throw it away. -
Reading those last two posts you people are very weird. If only a cat could talk eh?
weirdos.

Huge mistake.
They should have blatantly snapped its neck and skinned it before marinating, not to mention scoring the meat. -

Registered 17 years agoCheck out my cat, he's ripe for some good eating (if he wasn't in space). We call him Fatty Battenburg aka Batman.
Throw in some vegetables, you got yourself a stew going baby! -
Q: Cats - is there nothing they can't do?
A: Shit in their own gardens?

Registered 17 years agoI have been thinking for a long time that we should be professional farming cats as meat. Why do they continue to get away with doing nothing and not providing us nutrition? -

Have you been fattening him up for a guild BBQ perhaps?
I can make a really good potato salad for it. -
From Wikipedia:
"In Europe, cats are eaten in some rural parts of Switzerland; the traditional recipe on farms in some regions involved cooking the cat with sprigs of thyme. In January 2004, Reuters reported that, "Swiss culinary traditions include puppies and kittens. Private consumption of cat and dog is permissible. Swiss animal welfare groups say it is hard to estimate how many pets end up salted and smoked or in a Swiss frying pan each year."
